Eldar Stay Relevant At Maryland Open: Top 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. You can check out the event details here.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
3rd Place: Jonas Beardsley – Imperial Knights
2nd Place: Jared Vail – Harlequins
1st Place: Brad Chester – Eldar
Brad’s winning Eldar was a two detachment set up. The first was a battalion led by 2 Farseers Skyrunner, which are fantastic psykers with the benefit of being on Jetbikes for increased mobility.
Troops bring in 15 rangers for some very cheap bodies that can send a few rounds down range.
Elites bring in 30 Dire Avengers, solid bodies with decent weapons and good durability. There are also 10 Howling Banshees, which are melee-centric bodies that can and will wipe out units if allowed to make a charge. The last elite is 5 Striking Scorpions, which are hybrid units that are slightly more flexible than the other two elite choices.
Fast Attacks close out the battalion with 15 Windriders, adding in some mobile threats that can help pick off stragglers or be precisely where they are needed every turn.
The second detachment is an outrider led by Baharroth, a great lord with melee and shooting along with special rules that allow him to zip on and off the field.
Elites bring in 5 Voidscarred, which are some decent bodies with flexible weapon load-outs.
Lastly, the list closes out with fast attacks with 5 Swooping hawks for mobile models and 2 Vypers for a final touch or vehicles to help zip around.
