The new models definitely have a different look, and here is the size and scale of the new Imperial Guard miniatures compared to the old ones.
We saw someone recently photoshop some minis together, which gives us a good idea, then thanks to Instagram, we get the size of the three most recent releases next to one another and the older models!
However, we don’t have the Cadians in our hands, so, take it with all the salt you need, but it looks pretty close.
One thing is for sure, the proportions look much more life-like than what we have seen before, so if you love the old sausage fingers and giant heads, you might be disappointed.

New Imperial Guard Kasrkin & Cadian Miniatures Size Comparison
Thanks to zero_five_kim over on Instagram for posting up the scale of the new Cadian miniatures!
Both the breacher and the Kasrkin have a much more “human” look and are both a little taller. However, the scale is close enough for older models to be in the game.
They actually come in a hair taller than the Admech but are slightly smaller than the Eldar.
Obviously, they are still dwarfed by termie, as they should be! Now, let’s check out the size with some photoshop magic!
New Imperial Guard Cadian Miniatures Size Comparison
These comparisons were spotted on Reddit, and to us, they look pretty good. Something to keep in mind is that the Games Workshop said in the stream that the new models would come on 28mm bases, the same as the Cadian box with an upgrade sprue released recently (pictured right).
As you can see, the new Cadians are slightly taller, but the scale is almost identical. We assume they want to keep the scale fairly similar so people who have been playing the faction for a long time won’t be out of luck.
The new models are also much slimmer, with the proportions looking more human. The heads aren’t so big, and they don’t look nearly as thick.
With other companies’ human sculpts really starting to pass by the old minis, Games Workshop really needed to do something to shake things up a bit, and we’re here for it.
Either way, the Imperial Guard looks to be getting a slew of new models that may also satiate the discerning treadhead. Dope new rules would be a fantastic pairing to have as well in their upcoming codex.
