GW Reveals Tyranids Going For the Emperor on Terra Now in 10th!

10th-Edition-tyrnaids-terra-emperor-assaultGames Workshop has spilled the beans that Tyrnaids and Hive Fleet Leviathan are going for the Emperor on the Thorneworld of Terra in 10th Edition Warhammer 40k.

GW showed off 10th edition with a crazy cinematic trailer focused on the Tyranids and Space Marines. So, it would make sense for them to make a massive jump in the lore side of things and really move the factions along story-wise.

While they didn’t give too much in the cinematic trailer about the full scale of the war, a single phrase on the new Warhammer 40k page seems to confirm the initial plot of 10th Edition.

Games Workshop Reveals The Tyranids Are Going For the Emperor on Terra in 10th Edition

10th edition Tyranids 4The Tryanids would love to have the Emperor added to their Biomass, and it looks like they are getting closer than ever!

Here’s the line from the Warhammer 40k website, setting up the potential backstory for 10th Edition.

Humanity is beset on all sides by mutants, heretics, and xenos threats. Now, a force thought defeated threatens Holy Terra itself, and Imperial lines, already stretched thin, must move to defend the Throneworld…

This is actually crazy as it’s been awhile since Terra has been besieged by anyone (but it always seems to be Chaos lately, right)?

The Tyranids making for the throneworld could make for one of the most significant story arcs we’ve seen since Cadia and could ramp up a ton of cool campaigns. This is basically as confirmed as you can get, and it really sets the stage for all the new models for both sides.

We’ll have to see where they take this in the future. Still, for now (there is a conspiracy theory the Emperor is the Hivemind, just something to think about), it looks like the bugs are encroaching on Terra.

Also, as the chapters will have to come back to defend the Emperor, it might open up the opportunity for more new Imperial units and models.

This could also set the stage for more Primarchs re-appearing because if they were ever to return, now is the time!

For the Tyranids, it looks like they are getting a huge range revamp, but we’re not a hundred percent on all new the minis quite yet. Either way, this bodes well for Nids players if they are going to be such a central focus of the game and story in early 10th Edition.
