Imperial Guard er the Astra Militarum won the Firebug Open over the weekend, as these Warhammer 40k army lists took the top three spots!
The tournament is over, and now we can look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought into their armies.

3rd Place: Grischa Gerwert – Chaos Daemons
2nd Place: Matthias Bellmann – Eldar
1st Place: Manuel Wieczorek – Astra Militarum
Manuel’s Guard list was pretty standard, with a Command squad and a Death Korps Marshal for efficient bodies that can give Orders, while Leontus is easily one of the best HQs for ‘Guard in terms of supportive abilities and stat line.
Elites bring in eight Engineers for some deep-striking bodies and good ranged options. There are also ten Kasrkin for some excellent general-purpose infantry. Plus the one and only Sly Marbo closes out Elites as another deep-striking option.
Fast Attacks go all in on Sentinels with nine Armored and nine Scouts. These have slight durability and point differences, but overall are great mobile options with decent ranged weapons for taking out armored threats.
Heavy Support starts with six Mortars for some great long-range poke options and 2 Leman Russ for significant armored threats. The list then closes on a single Chimera for transportation and a little chaff-clearing power.
