Massive New Warhammer Preview Announced For LVO 2024

gw-previews-new-warhammerGW has officially confirmed a big preview for LVO 2024 for Warhammer 40k, AoS, Horus Heresy, Kill Team, and more that is happening SOON!

If you’ve been waiting for new Warhammer minis, and the Christmas previews didn’t have anything for your faction or army, this might be for you. Games Workshop does a massive annual preview at LVO, so we expect this to be packed with plenty of fantastic miniatures for 2024.  We’ll check out all the details and give you our ideas on what we could see in the preview!

Games Workshop Announces Big New Preview For LVO 2024

The announcement for the preview comes from Warhammer Community.

GW preview LVO 2024

In just two weeks’ time, you can join us for the next massive Warhammer Preview – featuring the latest reveals for your favourite Warhammer games. We’ve got some big boxes to show off, as well as the latest developments from the Mortal Realms.

It sounds like Warhammer 40k will get some new big boxes announced, and there will be details on what is happening in the Mortal Realms, too. Plus, previews for other game lines like Horus Heresy, Kill Team, and more!

GW preview LVO 2024 2

If you’re attending the event in person, you’ll get your look earlier than everyone else, but don’t worry if you can’t make it – we’ll broadcast the full preview shortly afterwards. Since the event is in the evening in Las Vegas, you’ll be able to catch us here at Warhammer Community or at the Warhammer Twitch channel from 12am EST/5am GMT.

Once again, the LVO preview will be very late/super early in the morning. However, the time works out pretty well for everyone in Australia and Japan!

What We Could See For 40k

Considering Games Workshop said big boxes, let’s look at the recent rumors about upcoming big new Warhammer 40k box sets from Valrak.

2024 year end model 1 silhoutteFirst was a new Adeptus Custodes box, and if you want to start an army of them, this may be a great box to score! However, it won’t have the codex inside, but that’s okay with how many minis you may get! Here’s everything rumored to be in the box: 6 Jetbikes, 6 Terminators, a Custodian Guard box, a Shield-Captain, and possibly the new character!

A few details don’t make sense here, though, as you build the Shield Captains out of the normal guard box. So, are there four regular models and a captain build? Or is there an additional Shield Captain alongside the other five? Also, there is some confusion about whether the new character model will be in the box, but it’s hard to imagine a box without it.

We all know how GW loves its paywalls these days.  Either way, if the rumors are true, this box should get you about 1,000 points in one buy, which is pretty sweet.

Two Possible New Chaos Space Marine Boxes

New Chaos Space Marine Lords

Haarken is currently the only jump-pack character.

Rumors about two new Chaos Lord models are up next. First, Chaos Space Marines might finally get a generic Lord with a jump pack! It’s been something CSM hobbyists have wanted for a long time. The first of the two rumored boxes may be more daemon-focused (we’re not sure if engines or actual Daemons), and the jump-pack character will lead it. While we don’t know the exact contents, it could be huge.

Chaos Terminator squad

Then there is a rumored new Chaos Terminator Lord model that may be on the way inside a second bundle box set! Unfortunately, Valrak hasn’t heard anything about an entirely new Terminator Squad. He thinks it’s more likely to have just the new Terminator Lord and the current squad(s) in the box. However, these are rumors, so there is a chance we could see new terminators. But at this point, it doesn’t look great.

Huron Blackheart

Lastly, Huron may be supposedly getting a new model, but probably not with the codex release. It seems more like he will be redone for a later campaign or something like that, so it’s still a ways off.

Kroot Get Their Own New Boxset?

2024 year end model 3 silhoutteThe last box set rumor out there focuses entirely on Kroot! Supposedly the box won’t have a single Tau mini in it (well… Kroot are Tau, but no blue faces). We’ve already seen a new Kroot unit in Kill Team, but like the shrouded mini above, they may be getting even more! This rumored box set may have brand new warriors, the model above, something called Rampagers (like a melee version of the old Knarloc Riders), the codex, and more.

rumor engine 09-26-23We also recently saw this Rumor Engine, which looks much like an updated Kroot weapon compared to the old model below!

kroot cavThis old Kroot Krootox Rider can’t be found anywhere anymore, so getting them back in a big box format would be cool to see!

Kill Team

40k Kill Team Night LordsWe already saw that Night Lords will be getting a new upgrade kit for Kill Team, but we don’t know the other side of the box; luckily for Drukhari players, the rumors point to Mandrakes as the other half.  The Mandrakes are rumored to be a completely new kit, and they need it! While the existing Mandrake unit looks great, it is still in Finecast and is super hard to get (it’s not even on GW’s US site when writing this.)

Most players have been looking for ways to proxy their Mandrakes, so this is a much-needed change. Let’s hope you can actually get these on their own, and they aren’t paywalled for months.

Since we are wishlisting here, could this also be the start of a more extensive range refresh for the Drukhari, as some models are still pretty old? Perhaps even a new character or two (come on, give us Vect)?

Age of Sigmar Rumors

GW's New Advent Rumor Engine 2

The number of rumor engines we saw for Skaven was just wild, so let’s hope we get to see some revealed at this event! However, they didn’t appear in many of the shrouded miniature pictures, so that might be a pipe dream, and they are coming later on…

New Miniatures Age of Sigmar in 2024 2

New Miniatures Age of Sigmar in 2024Callis and Toll appeared in Hammer and Bolter (a Warhammer + show) about six months ago. These two look so much like them that we really can’t make a guess for anything else.

New Miniatures Age of Sigmar in 2024 7Callis has a bunch of pistols, pretty chunky armor, and the same hairstyle as the silhouette. Then, Toll has a lantern and the same weapon on his back. They aren’t the first minis from a show to come to life, as GW also made the Black Talons, so there is plenty of precedent for them.  This could be an easy reveal for AoS, along with the other shrouded miniatures.

Underworld

New Miniatures Age of Sigmar in 2024 6GW preview LVO 2024 3Our guess is this cat will be with an Elf or Stormcasts Underworld box. We’ll have to see, but this is the only concrete picture GW has given us so far, and we know how much they love to give Underworld boxes pets!

Games Workshop has announced a big preview for upcoming releases in Warhammer 40k, AoS, Horus Heresy, Kill Team, and more. The preview will feature new big boxes for Warhammer 40k, as well as developments from the Mortal Realms and previews for other game lines. Rumors suggest that the preview may include a new Adeptus Custodes box, two possible new Chaos Space Marine boxes, a Kroot box set, and new upgrade kits for Kill Team.
