After seeing the latest MSRPs for the new Games Workshop releases, another price adjustment or increase may be coming in 2024…
Let’s start with the obvious: these are rumors based on recent releases and GW’s pricing cycle. So, take them with as much salt as you need. If you don’t want to believe GW will raise prices this year, that’s up to you. Keep in mind that GW announced a price increase in February in each of the last few years.
Editor’s Note: This rumor turned out to be true; it just isn’t happening at the same time as it has in the past four years.
If you want to read more about the 2024 price update and what is getting an increase, read more about it here.
The 2023 one didn’t go so well as they put Canadian prices in the US sheet, as initially it was nearly an 18% increase, but ended up being about a 6% increase across thousands of items. We’ll check that out, but let’s look at why we think another increase is on the way in 2024.
RUMORS: Another GW Price Increase Is On the Way
Another launch army box set is here, this time dubbed Deathwing Assault. However, when you look at the $220 price, in theory, it ‘should’ have been $210 max. This is because similar boxes, like Wrath of the Soul Forge King and the Flesh Eater Courts Army Box, were priced at that and had similar values. This is also the same increase we saw for the Age of Sigmar Battleforces, which went from $210 to $220 for Christmas 2023.
The Strike Force Agastus Box even went for $200 in February 2023 pre-increase and had a relatively similar value. So, not only is the price higher for the Deathwing Assault, but $220 is an odd number GW doesn’t use much. This box is also hit shelves in February, so GW might have just applied the price increase instead of putting it out cheaper and then immediately raising the price.
Once these price increases hit, $220 could be the new bundle box price. Again, these are all rumors, but they did the exact same thing the past few years as well.
2023 February Price Increases
We found that the average overall price increase across all six hundred plus items was 8%, which contradicted their original statement of a 6% increase.

The Good News… If Any?
The only good news is that if you want any minis, you better buy them now instead of waiting for the increase! That’s probably not the good news you wanted, but you can save about 5% if you buy before the February increases come. Or, we could be wrong, but we wouldn’t count on GW not increasing prices each year.
