Playing Halo: Flashpoint
Attempting to bring a new take on the skirmish tabletop game, one of the first things interesting to mention is the cube-based movement system. This is their attempt to simplify the game by removing the need for a tape measure. In doing so, your 24″ x 24″ is going to be divided into a cube-style grid.
When attacking, you’ll start with three dice, which you’ll roll against the correlating stat on their mini-card. You can adjust this further in your favor by having a height advantage or catching them without cover.
These beneficial fighting positions will add additional dice to the pool, giving you an extra chance to survive that Spartan armor. You could also hedge your bets on those exploding 8s, which means that whenever you roll an 8, you’ll get to add another die to the pool.
You can also pick up items and weapons from around the map that can help to adjust those stats in your favor!
