Auroboros: Dissension is the new 5E campaign from World of Warcraft’s Chris Metzen, launching on Kickstarter this October for Warchief Gaming.
Chris Metzen is back at the 5E table with Auroboros: Dissension, a full-length campaign where an underground concert turns violent and sends Lawbrand into chaos.
The setting first appeared in Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent, which raised more than 1.2 million dollars on Kickstarter, and now Dissension continues the world Metzen has been running since his childhood D&D games.
It launches in October 2026 alongside a revised Worldbook: Lawbrand updated for the 5.5E rules.

A New Adventure Drops You Into a Lawbrand Coming Apart
The new campaign pulls your party into a conspiracy running through Lawbrand’s back alleys, secret venues, catacombs, and halls of power. There, you’ll be chased by zealots across the trade-cities, deal with shadowy musicians, and face a villain everyone thought was dead.
The main question is whether art will save Lawbrand or destroy it, giving the adventure a clear theme for the party to wrestle with.
Worldbook: Lawbrand Gets Rebuilt for the 5.5E Rules
Warchief Gaming spent three years rebuilding Worldbook: Lawbrand for the 5.5E rules. The revised edition adds playable ogres and dryads, new backgrounds with Origin Feats, a Group Charter system, and an updated Mark of the Serpent that lets the party share its power and consequences.
That three-year revision is encouraging, especially when plenty of D&D Kickstarters arrive with bigger promises than finished material. Best of all, returning backers get the revised book at a reduced campaign price, while players who like to build out a whole table around a setting should have plenty to use.
College of Shock Bard
The College of Shock Bard turns the setting’s music-and-magic theme into a subclass built around dangerous performances.
Oath of the Veiled Keepers Paladin
The Oath of the Veiled Keepers Paladin adds mystery to the usual sacred oath, fitting Lawbrand’s murky loyalties.
Arcanologist Wizard
The Arcanologist Wizard focuses on studying dangerous and unknowable forces.
Auroboros: The Muse Turns the Setting Into Serialized Fiction
Auroboros: The Muse is a serialized story written by Jim Zub. It follows Imani Nyoka, a bard who gains real musical power after a stranger carves the Mark of the Serpent into her skin, along with a darker influence she has to resist.
Signing up gets you the first chapter, with more released before the Kickstarter launches.
Final Thoughts on Auroboros: Dissension
Auroboros: Dissension launches in October 2026. If it follows the success of Coils of the Serpent, plenty of 5E groups could be preparing to run it next year, while the revised Worldbook gives new players an easier way into Lawbrand.
The pledge tiers will be worth checking out more once the campaign goes live, but until then, the free dice and first chapter of The Muse make the signup worth a look.
