The 40k Sky is Falling? Fake Rumor Alert

Calm down, and 40k on folks. There is a viscous false rumor going around that you should be aware of.

There is a certain rumormonger out there that likes to stir things up from time to time by emailing bits of randomness to some of the bigger tabletop gaming sites out there.  Fact of the matter is this source has pretty much never been right, like ever.

The seemingly bad part is that the bigger sites out there KNOW THIS and while we thank him kindly for his correspondence we all pretty much know NOT to even talk about the things we get messages about.  Well until now I guess…

Fake Rumors Are Bad, mmmm kay?

I received this rumor ELEVEN DAYS AGO.  I knew it was completely bogus, just like the last 20 emails or so I got form the so called “Voice of the Chaos Gods” in various forms.  I just said thanks, and deleted the message.

GW will Release a new Edition of Warhammer 40.000 in 2016.

I don’t know at the moment, if the 8.Edition will have few pages rules like Age of Sigmar.

Now it seems like a news site out there ran the “story”, as what else other than “an anonymous source”. Sure I get it, traffic’s down right now on websites because the Games Workshop scene is in flux (and it’s mid summer), but knowingly running something that is clearly FAKE just to get folks stirred up is not only unscrupulous, it’s irresponsible to boot.

Even if you say hey I don’t believe this… but come see anyways. I feel like somethings just aren’t worth discussing at all….

We literally just saw hobbyists FREAK OUT and one even set fire to a whole army over Age of Sigmar, and to publish something like this directly after that rough patch is truly bad form in my opinion.

Now I’m not saying that Games Workshop will never make changes to 40k, I’m just saying there is NO CONCRETE EVIDENCE of this, as of right now, from anyone out there that’s friendly to the hobby and likes to report news from time to time.

So everyone please calm down, and hobby on. The sky is NOT falling.
