Well we’re back with more horseplay today. Checkout The Black Knight, Jkin’s converted Emperor’s champion. You may have seen the Heavy Cavalry “Terminators” Jkin did last week for his Black Templars.
When he runs them as Templars, they are Terminators with Thunder Hammer / Storm-shields (hence the 40mm bases, shields, and “Lance Hammers”).
The Emperor’s Champion model is of course mandatory in every Black Templars list, and from the looks of it, he is well on the way to being the centerpiece of the Army.
Overall Jkin was going for a Knights theme with the army from the styling, lances, and mounts- I’d say he nailed it.
I’m sure not sure what the final base/ basing will be for this guy but I’m sure it will be awesome.
The Conversion(s)
The mount is a Bretonnian Pegasus Knight, with green stuffed wing slots. For the legs he again used a set of Robed Ravenwing Riding Legs, with additional putty work to extend the flowing robe back some.
Several cuts had to still be made to position the legs onto the the larger Pegasus mount and again the gaps were filled with Green-Stuff. For his Terminator mounts, he used Chaos Marauder Horses which are slightly smaller.
The Champion’s body is theBlack Templars MK8 Errant Armor from the Templar Upgrade kit. his shoulders and sword are also from the Templar Upgrade set as well, to keep to the “Knight” theme.
I think The Black Knight turned out great. I love the dynamic pose, and can’t wait to see some paint on him. I only wish I had gotten a shot of the model without primer, for this I apologize.
Check out the Work In Progress (WIP) shots, below.

I think this army will look amazing when he’s done with it. -MBG
