Battletome: Skaven Pre-order
The Skaven have risen in power, with their deity firmly established within the Chaos pantheon and their insatiable hunger materializing in real-time. “Battletome: Skaven” acts as the ultimate guide to these infamous ratfolk, displaying their cowardly behavior and providing all the necessary tools for playing with them.
The 128-page tome, accompanied by an eight-page gatefold section, is filled with lore and presents Battle Traits, Battle Formations, Heroic Traits, Artefacts of Power, as well as Spell, Prayer, and Manifestation Lores. It contains 43 warscrolls covering the extensive range of Skaven characters, troops, horrors, and war machines. Also included are rules for the Gnawfeast Clawpack Spearhead, two Armies of Renown, and two Regiments of Renown.
Battletome: Skaven – Gamer’s Edition
The latest edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar introduces Gamer’s Edition Battletomes, featuring all the original content in a more compact format. The Skaven edition is equipped with 61 rules reference cards essential for gameplay, along with cards for Spearhead force, Armies, and Regiments of Renown, all conveniently stored in an envelope within the back cover.
Spearhead Skaven
The Skaven have put together two powerful Spearhead forces. One can be found in the Ultimate Starter Set, while this new one is called the Warpspark Clawpack. It includes 25 miniatures, such as a classic Grey Seer, three Stormfiends, a Warp Lightning Cannon, and 20 new Clanrats. Rules for deploying this Spearhead in the unique game mode will be provided for free on Warhammer Community, or players can choose to include them in their army as additional reinforcements.
Vizzik Skour, Prophet of the Horned Rat
The Great Horned Rat has chosen to elevate a monstrous being, Vizzik Skour, through the catastrophic fires of the Vermindoom to serve as a prophet. Leading a group called the Great Grand Gnaw Horde, Vizzik Skour infects both allies and dissenters with a death frenzy, propelling them into escalating levels of mindless violence. Adorned in tattered robes and wielding an unholy gnawstaff, this colossal figure, covered in a multitude of vermin and crowned with a cluster of twisted horns, serves as a striking focal point for any Skaven army.
Krittok Foulblade
Krittok Foulblade, the most assiduous of all Clawlords in the Clans Verminus, has a knack for using the promise of survival to instill loyalty in his minions. Despite his relatively advanced age for a Skaven, Krittok remains a formidable combatant thanks to his deadly daemon-blade, Doomfang. Each time he strikes a bargain with the Verminlord trapped within the blade, he can fight with the ferocity of a much younger Skaven. Moreover, with every deal made, the daemon’s sentence is reduced.
Arch-Warlock
The Clans Skryre are each led by an Arch-Warlock, a master inventor and chaotic engineer. Their appearance, marked by singed fur and cruel prostheses, reflects their adventurous pursuit of increasingly destructive weapons. They harness technology as a form of sorcery, wielding crackling stormcage halberds with mastery.
Warlock Galvaneer
The Warlock Galvaneer and other Skaven Warlocks are driven by a relentless pursuit of technological advancement, particularly in the realm of warp lightning. They utilize warpvolt obliterators to unleash powerful energy that can devastate enemies or enhance the weaponry of their allies.
Master Moulder
The Master Moulders oversee the Clans Moulder and are committed to pushing the boundaries of biological experimentation, often yielding disturbing results. Their creations are a fusion of different flesh, resulting in monstrous entities that bear little resemblance to their original forms.
Acolyte Globadiers
The Clans Skryre are known for their deadly weapons, and one of the most lethal is the volatile poisoned wind globes. Acolyte Globadiers throw these delicate poisoned orbs at their enemies, suffocating them with warpstone-tainted gas.
Warpspark Weapon Battery
The Skaven have a preference for keeping a safe distance from their enemies and often use Warpspark Weapon Battery crews to hide within their ranks. This allows them to thin out enemy forces while remaining protected by their sheer numbers. This set includes three teams that can be armed with Warpvolt Scourgers, Ratling Guns, or Warpfire Throwers.
Warp-Grinder
The warp-drill fang fires a beam that can penetrate the fabric of reality, enabling the Skaven to tunnel into battle and swiftly dismantle even the most resilient armor upon arrival.
Stormvermin
Skaven destined to become Stormvermin are selected at birth based on their ability to outdo their siblings. They undergo harsh training supervised by relentless Clawlords and are provided with top-notch gear. Their uncommon mix of discipline and ferocity sets them apart from the typically disorganized Skaven and often catches their enemies off guard.
Doom-Flayers
The ceaseless experimentation of Skryre engineers has led to the creation of numerous frenzied contraptions, including the unpredictable Doom-Flayers. The operators of these machines thoroughly enjoy engaging their warp-engines and careening into the opposing forces, causing significant damage.
Skaven Brood Terror Pre-Order
The most abhorrent of all the experiments conducted by the Clan Moulder are the Brood Terrors. These creatures are created by grafting a Master Moulder into a larger beast, resulting in twin-headed monstrosities that attack with hooked flails and warpflame scourgers.
Skaven Reinforcements
The Skaven’s forces continue to grow as the Clawlord on Gnaw-beast, Warplock Jezzails, and Rat Ogors are now being sold individually for the first time. Additionally, the Ratling Warpblaster will be available soon, while Thanquol on Boneripper and the Plaguepack are also being repackaged.
Skaven Warscroll Cards and Dice Pre-Order
The set includes 50 reference cards, including 43 warscroll cards and seven Spearhead cards for using the Gnawfeast Clawpack in games of Spearhead. Additionally, there are 16 dark green dice with bright green pips and the Skaven logo on the six face, which can be used to bless rolls.
And that’s the scoop on the new Skaven minis and rules for Warhammer Age of Sigmar! Whether you’re joining the Great Grand Gnaw Horde or striking bargains with daemon-blades, these releases are sure to bring some chaotic fun to your next game. With a variety of new models and the first availability of a large portion of their update, players have plenty to look forward to this week.
