Another Great Way To Weather Your Miniatures!
To start you need to prime the model a dark color like brown or black. Then coat the areas you want to chip with AK Interactive Chipping Medium, followed by a brighter color mixed with that same medium then applying a solid coat over those areas again. Then take some brushes with different stiffness, add a little bit of water, and go ham, the paint should start chipping away!
After you get a few more base colors on the model you can take some AK Interactive Streaking Grime in the airbrush and cover the model, be sure to use more on areas that you want dirtier of course! After grabbing some q-tips or cotton swabs, use your AK Interactive White Spirits to remove some of the grime in specific areas.
Next up with some oil paints, you can do some cool tricks. If you have a turquoise oil paint you can apply a small amount, then use a dry brush to spread it to make an easy and fast oxidation effect! Another trick is to use a black oil wash and the White Spirits from before to create a super low tension wash, perfect for crevises!
You can also use the same method with the spirits as before to fix any mistakes and clean up areas.
Next up you can use some AK Interactive Rust Streaks for easy rust stains anywhere you want to place them! at this point, he also uses a large variety of dry pigments on the base to give it a more environmental feel.
With that, the weathering is done!
