3rd Place: Jacob Gold – Tyranids
2nd Place: Jeff Elston – Aeldari
1st Place: Trenton Bates – Drukhari
Trenton’s Drukhai were led by three Archons for wound re-rolls, a Beastmaster for a solid charging solo threat, and Lelith for giving a huge boost to a Wyches unit.
Two units of Warriors add solid basic ranged units, while a unit of Wyches pairs up with Lelith for a close-range threat.
A single Raider and five venoms add mobility and ranged firepower that can zip around the board.
Two Court of the Archons bring in a variety of good bodies that have the benefit of joining a Warrior unit during deployment. A single Cronos acts as a solid solo ranged model.
A unit of Incubi and two Mandrakes provide some close combat power. Two units of Scourges offer more ranged shots, while a Tantalus is one final vehicle with great ranged firepower.
There you have it: the top Warhammer 40k army lists from the Boise Cup were ruled by Drukhari, Eldar, and Tyranids. Trenton’s Dark Eldar army came out on top thanks to its focus on diverse threats that might prefer one form of combat while still retaining a decent option in the other. Overall, studying these army lists offers some insight for newer Warhammer 40k players and pros alike.
