This week he is looking at his favorite way to use Army Painter Speedpaint and how to get the best results while still going fast!Â
Goobertown Hobbies’ Favorite Speedpaint Technique: Tutorial Video
He started just doing a zenithal highlight while using the Army Painters Speedpaints. However, that’s not necessarily the only way to go about it!
Today, he will try a bunch of different methods on the same mini to see which way he likes best and how to paint his army using this moving forward! Just to note, he tried some other undercoat colors, but he does the majority with a black undercoat, then went from there.
Let’s see his favorite methods!
Drybrushing

To see how everything compares, he also drybrushed a mini with Pro Acryl White and one with a cheap Craft paint. They all had similar results. To finish them off, he does an extra layer of gray in between the white and black. As you can see above, there is a big difference, and the brighter will give a brighter model in the end.
You can also do this with a gray zenithal coat using a primer can instead of drybrushing, giving a similar result.

Time For Colors

The glaze version uses a tiny bit of paint, whereas the wash uses much larger amounts of paint! Honestly, though, there’s not too much difference in the end. However, this was just one quick test before seeing how all the different undercoats look with paint.
