Imperial and Crimson Fists are sharing in the rules for the next Marine support wave. Take a look at what these two Chapters will be getting!
We knew Dorn’s Chapters were getting support. Between a new named character and a codex supplement, we’ve been waiting to see the new rules. Check out the latest official preview from Warhammer Community.
Imperial Fists Rules Preview Breakdown
Before we jump into the latest confirmed wave of rules, it looks like the rumors we saw earlier were pretty spot-on. However, digging deeper into what we’ll definitely be seeing we’ve got:
Their upgraded Chapter Tactic is just a reminder to keep in the back of your head while reading these rules. They don’t just ignore cover now. They also get exploding 6’s to hit with bolt weapons. Just keep that in mind when you’re list building.
The Imperial Fists get a bonus rule while the Devastator Doctrine is active just like the Iron Hands. However, in a different way. If they target a vehicle or Building, the damage is boosted by +1. That means cheap Heavy Bolters can plink off wounds at 2 damage a pop!
Speaking of Heavy weapons and Devastator Doctrines, this 2CP strat can give all of your Heavy keyworded weapons an additional AP for 6’s to wound. Combined with the innate -1 AP for the Devastator Doctrine, we could be seeing Lascannons punch with -5 AP damage.
Warlord Trait Makes Them Tough as Nails
As for a Warlord Trait, you can make a regular T4 Marine only take wounds on a 4+ regardless of strength. That means even a S16 Leviathan will have some trouble punching through!
Anti-terrain Psychic Power
Going into psychic powers, they pull their talents form the Geokinesis discipline. One of these is Wrack and Ruin. This power picks on people trying to find shelter in terrain features and buildings. It only goes off on a 6+ and for each 5+ on nine dice, you dish out a mortal wound. This is actually stupid useful against small infiltrating units that are there just to grab objectives.
Lieutenant-Aura Relic
The Eye of Hypnoth essentially turns the bearer into a Lieutenant. You can get a crazy amount of value on something like a Chapter Master. He will let everyone reroll all hits and wounds of 1. Just keep in mind that he’ll have a huge target on his back so keep him “hidden”.
The Crimson Fists share many of the traits of their parent Chapter and receive additional background and rules in Codex Supplement: Imperial Fists.
Inside the book, they’ll also have their own datasheet for Pedro Kantor, a Warlord Trait table, relics, etc.
This relic isn’t new, but it’s being moved from the Crimson Fist White Dwarf into the book as well. With that said, we might also see Duty’s Burden in the section of relics also. This was a relic Bolter from White Dwarf.
Tor Garadon Highlights
In case you missed the highlights on Tor Garadon, we’ve got them here for you. The thing that makes this guy exceptionally unique is that he’s wielding the first-ever Sx3 power fist.
when it comes to smashing holes in enemy vehicles and buildings. Yes, that’s a total of Strength 12 and 6 Attacks on the charge against such a target – each of which will be dishing out 4 Damage!
On top of dishing out potentially 24 damage against vehicles and buildings, he’s also got the Signum Array, just like Malkaan Feirros. This just turns one unit within 3″ into an exceptional shooter for the turn.
