Today Galharen will show us how to mass-produce your own scenic bases for miniatures and paint them up like a machine!

In this tutorial, he shows a quick and cost-effective method to get your whole army based in no time! Especially if you have a ton of minis, this is great as it will save you a bunch of cash.

How to Make Scenic Bases For Miniatures: Galharen Tutorial
To start, you’re going to need two things, Blue Stuff and Acrylic Resin from Green Stuff World.
Then, he also printed out some base toppers to model his bases after.
How to Make a Mold
Now, you have to make a mold, but it’s pretty easy. To start, he puts the Blue Stuff into boiling water for about a minute. It should be soft enough to roll out flat.
Then press the Blue Stuff onto the topper; just be careful here, as the better you shape it, the better results you will have.
Making the Bases
From here you need to mix the resin in a 3:1 ratio with water. Once you have the right consistency, pour the resin mixture into the molds. It hardens in about 30 minutes, and you can remove them from the molds. However, you should wait a full 24 hours before they reach total hardness.
Once you have them out, you simply pour in more mix to the molds and keep making bases! Remember, you might have to adjust some of the edges with a hobby knife.
Painting the Bases
He basecoats all of them with a black primer and then airbrushes Bluegrey Dusk as a first basecoat. The first highlight is Tropical Turquoise, where he focuses more on the edges of the stones.
Once all the bases are done to this point and dry, he creates an oil wash with the black oil from Rembrandt Paint and white spirits. He washes the bases all over with this mixture.
He takes a makeup sponge and the white spirits to clean up the edges and just dabs it off.
How the Bases Look
You can make more choices here for your bases; he just did a little drybrushing and added some dirt colors. But that’s really up to you! Either way, the bases look great, and he made a ton of them in no time.
