New Old World Dwarfs & Black Library Pre-Order Revealed
Here are the details for these new releases, which will be available to pre-order with your favorite retailers on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, around 1 p.m. EST in the States.
New Warhammer The Old World Pre-Orders
Gather ’round and ready your wallets, because it’s time to revisit the, battle-scarred world of Warhammer: The Old World! Whether you’re a veteran warlord with a collection that could rival Emperor Karl Franz’s own or a fresh recruit eager to make your mark, this pre-order may be your golden ticket to glory.
Arcane Journal: Dwarfen Mountain Holds
The army can be expanded beyond the existing units listed in the Forces of Fantasy book with the addition of the Arcane Journal: Dwarfen Mountain Holds. This 48-page supplement provides new rules, background lore, and scenarios. It introduces profiles for three named characters from the Era of Karl Franz, as well as unique units such as the renowned Goblin Hewer and additional Dogs of War options. The supplement also offers two Armies of Infamy, enabling players to field a Royal Clan and an Expeditionary Force, along with new Runes and Runic Tattoos.
Dwarfen Mountain Holds Battalion
The Battalion box contains a powerful army with 32 Dwarf Warriors forming a sturdy battle line, accompanied by 32 Quarrelers that can also be assembled as Thunderers. The box also includes two Gyrocopters which can be built for aerial combat as well as bombing raids if assembled as Gyrobombers.
Dwarfen Mountain Holds Reference Card Pack, Dice Set, and Transfer Sheet
There is a set of Reference Cards and thematic dice for quick reference of rules and runic abilities. There is also a large sheet of 962 transfers, including runic emblems for major Dwarfen Karaks and a full set of 260 Klinkarhun runes for personalizing cannons with Khazalid insults.
Ungrim Ironfist, the Slayer King of Karak Kadrin
Ungrim Ironfist, known as the Slayer King, has returned to battle fierce and formidable monsters. In his earlier days, he wields the formidable Axe of Dargo and dons the Slayer Crown, maintaining his status as a skilled and deadly warrior capable of defeating powerful foes with well-timed strikes, as depicted in this Forge World resin miniature.
Dwarf Lords with Shieldbearers
The most skilled and revered Dwarf lords are transported to battle on hefty shields, symbolizing their status and providing a practical vantage point for combat. This set includes plastic Dwarf figures featuring a Thane on foot and a King carried by three devoted bodyguards. The interchangeable weapons allow for one figure to use a hand weapon and shield, while the other wields a substantial great weapon.
Dwarf Thane with Handgun on Oathstone
The leaders of the northern dwarf clans frequently place rune-inscribed Oathstones on the battlefield, serving as both a fighting position and a command center. These stones represent the honor and history of the clan, providing immunity to Panic tests for nearby units. This particular model is constructed from Forge World resin.
Classic Dwarf Characters
The Dwarf Command Set features three resin miniatures, including a Thane with a Battle Standard, a King on foot, and a Slayer of Legend, which can be used to represent either a Dragon Slayer or Demon Slayer. The Slayer Command Set contains a musician, battle standard bearer, and two alternate Slayers. These classic miniatures, such as Runesmiths and Engineers, are designed to support new Lords in battle and lead the throng to victory.
Classic Dwarf Troops
The Dwarfen army relies on its reliable and tough soldiers, such as Warriors, Slayers, Hammerers, and Ironbreakers for close combat, and Quarrelers or Thunderers for ranged firepower. These classic kits are essential for bolstering the army’s strength and are known for their durability and combat effectiveness.
Classic Dwarf Mercenaries
The Dwarfs living in the Empire will join the human allies in battle, wielding spears instead of their typical axes. These Imperial Dwarfs can be included in the Dogs of War contingent using two sets of traditional metal miniatures. Additionally, the fiercely reckless Slayers, referred to as Doomseekers, are making a comeback with a pack containing four metal characters, each armed with their unique chained axe blades.
Classic Dwarf War Engines
The Dwarfs are known for their deep affection towards their war machines. Their engineers have developed various methods to attack their enemies from a distance. For instance, the Grudge Thrower and Bolt Thrower are employed to launch massive rocks and bolts deep into enemy formations. Additionally, more unconventional options like the Goblin-Hewer and Flame Cannon are used to eliminate infantry with thrown axes or fire barrages.
The Anvil of Doom and Bugman’s Cart
The latest Dwarf release introduces two iconic units – the Anvil of Doom and Bugmans XXXXXX. The Anvil of Doom is a powerful tool that allows a Forgefather to enhance nearby Dwarfs’ armor and vigor with runic energies. Bugmans XXXXXX, on the other hand, is a non-magical yet potent potion distributed to nearby warriors to increase their speed when needed.
