GW just gave us another teaser for the Be’lakor Armies of Renown 40k rules that are coming in Chardon book II- check it out!
Warhammer Community just unveiled some of what you will get in return for taking the new Army of Renown, the Disciples of Be’lakor. These aren’t necessarily new rules for just him, they are what your army gets if you take the restrictions when building your list. The names are very similar to his actual rules, so just know this will be what his army gets not really him on his own.
Let’s jump into some of the rules for the big guy first and then check out the Army of Renown rules!
40k Be’lakor Weapon Rules
First, he has a standard sweeping attack which will double his attacks (now 12 total), which should help him dig out of horde combats.
The Piercing Strike however is great, and the stat line did seem to get changed last from +2S in his model Datasheet to +4S in the GW preview. All that aside, the main power of these attacks is that they prevent invulnerable saves! That means he might just be one of the best character killers in the game moving forward!
He is also getting a 4+ Invulnerable and -1 to wound rolls for incoming ranged shots.  Shadow Form is also pretty good, if he is attacked, the hit roll cannot be re-rolled, additionally, they must subtract 1 from it. These are both great to help make him tougher and last longer on the field, together they kinda push him over the top, he will be a massive pain to deal with.
Psychic Powers
With the ability to manifest two psychic powers each turn and access to the Noctic discipline that’s unique to Disciples of Be’lakor, you can turn the Dark Master into a mass mortal wound generator with Smite, Voidslivers, and Betraying Shades.
This power can be insane. While you have to roll 6’s if you can use this on a unit with 3 attacks each, if you get lucky, you can really deal the mortal wounds.
His powers are all pretty sweet, and this one can make a unit, like havocs, near impossible to take out by the enemy.
New Be’lakor Armies of Renown 40k Rules Revealed!
Armies of Renown always have a restriction for building the list to get the additional special rules below. They don’t give every restriction, but they did give one for the army:
As the original Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided, Be’lakor’s daemonic host comprises units from all four of the Dark Gods. As such, you cannot include a second Khorne Daemon unit in a Be’lakor’s Disciples army unless it includes one Tzeentch Daemon unit, one Nurgle Daemon unit, and one Slaanesh Daemon unit as well.
Now let’s check out what you gain!
Legions of Shade
For starters, all your Troops units gaining Objective Secured (giving them the upper hand when contesting objective markers), access to the army’s bespoke Stratagems* (such as Legions of Shade, above), and the Noctic Discipline for your Psykers.
This is pretty nice for a single CP when you need to get past the annoying screening units and to the vital target behind! Plus having all your troops ObSec is not something to overlook!
Locus of Shadow
Furthermore, instead of gaining their normal Daemonic Locus ability, your Daemonic Characters gain the Locus of Shadows ability…
While you replace the normal Locus ability, this will make your Daemons much harder to hit and hopefully keep them alive to get off the all-important charges!
Disciples of Shadows
…while your Heretic Astartes units gain the Disciples of Shadow ability in place of their normal Legion Trait.
Basically, your entire army is going to be wrapped in shadows and very hard to hit with shooting. Just remember though, this replaces their normal Legion Trait.
