It’s hard not to like the Stormcast! They are eternal warriors constantly battling Chaos in the name of Sigmar and have some really sweet minis. Get out your best suit of armor and biggest shield and let’s learn about the lore:
IN THE WORLD

While the Stormhosts have many different kinds of warriors, the most common sight are the Liberators. These regiments of stalwart frontline troops will battle their foe head-to-head. Rushing into their lines armed with hammer, sword, and shield. No follower of Chaos survives their rage.
While they are the most common type of Stormcast Eternal from the Warrior Chamber, they are not to be underestimated. Every single Liberator was once a mortal hero of mankind, revived by Sigmar into his warriors. Their Sigmarite armor and powerful weapons a beacon to anyone trying to free themselves from Chaos, the Undead or evil. While every single Liberator is a champion of Sigmar, they work and train to be a unit. Forming an unstoppable union of Sigmarite Shields and Warhammers. Sigmar’s might flows through his warriors. The Liberators train to channel this might to make their foe tremble before their power and skill.
In battle, the Liberators are the first to pour out from Sigmar’s lightning. Marching side by side into the enemy hordes. They might appear stoic but are filled with rightful rage. Their job is to be the frontline troops, holding the enemy at bay and battering them while they’re at it. In the meantime bolts, mounts and magic pour into the enemy without mercy. Armed with their mighty celestial-forged Sigmarite Shields, Warhammers, and Warblades. They will enact their vengeance on the forces of Chaos. They will return to the realm of Azyr in either victory or death.
ON THE FIELD

The Liberators can be equipped with a sizeable arsenal of weapons. The most common loadout is their iconic Warhammers and Sigmarite Shields. Needing a 4+ to hit and 3+ to Wound, those Warhammers aren’t anything to scoff at. They can replace their smashy Warhammers for stabby Warblades. This trades their Hit and to Wound rolls, but both are viable options.
One in every 5 models of Liberators can forgo these small arms for a massive Grandhammer or Grandblade. Keeping much of the same stats as their smaller cousins but adding a -1 Rend and double the damage. Lastly, they can switch out their Sigmarite Shields for a second Warblade or Warhammer. Replacing the re-roll Saves to re-rolling to Hit rolls instead.
During their training, leaders and commanders arise in the ranks. These can get promoted to Liberator-Primes, leading their units. These plume-wearing soldiers get an additional attack in combat. Liberators are perfect for pinning down and hurting big monsters. With their Ability “Lay Low The Tyrants”, they add 1 to their Hit rolls in combat against any enemy with 5 or more wounds.
The Liberators of the Stormcast Eternals, marching for vengeance and order against Chaos and all evil.
