The UK Goonhammer Open happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet 40k army lists making it out towards the top!
The top overall army lists were a lot of the same stagnant meta that has hung over tournaments like the ghost of the Knight Castellan, so we’re featuring some of the more unique lists that placed high instead!

10th Place: Jay Middlecoat- Knights
7th Place: Greg Chamberlain- Death Guard
5th Place: Konrad Bartkiewicz- Minotaurs

A Primaris Techmarine is the other HQ and helps out by healing the vehicles of the list, including Hecaton!
There is only one Troop, being a 5 man Incursor squad just to add a few bodies. Elites see the inclusion of a total of 4 Company Veterans who are cheap bodies that can all take storm shields making them very durable.
Heavy Support adds in a total of 10 Devastator Marines with 4 Multi-meltas and 4 Grav-cannons making for a nice suite of ranged anti-armor shots.

The second Detachment is a Vanguard led by a Primaris Lieutenant. This is a good option because he has loadout flexibility and offers sweet re-rolls to wound rolls of 1 within 6″.
Elites start off strong with a single Relic Contemptor Dread, running Cyclone, and 2 Twin Volkites making it great chaff clearer with potential to sneak damage in on bigger models.

Closing out the detachment (and list) is a Whirlwind Scorpius, which serves as another great chaff clearer.
