The Hogtowner 2021 happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet 40k army lists coming out towards the top!
The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.
Top Warhammer 40k Army Lists: The Hogtowner 2021

Also if you happened to miss it, the meta will be changing in some manner due to the new Balance Update for 40k that Games Workshop published earlier in November.
3rd Place: Kevin Imrie – Custodes
2nd Place: Adam Marcinkowski – Grey Knights
1st Place: Jesse McGibney – Iron Hands
Jesse’s Iron Hands are led by a Primaris Librarian, who can provide valuable psychic support, and a Primaris Techmarine, who will help to keep all of the vehicles in the list topped off and get extra value throughout the game.
Troops see the addition of a total of 15 Incursors, which add a decent amount of bodies to help secure objectives and lay extra shots downrange. There is also a 5 man unit of Intercessors bringing the total to 20 bodies to help secure objectives and push up the board.
Moving to Elites, a unit 5 Bladeguard Vets joins the fray as some hardy melee threats that can punish opponents who don’t respect the risk they pose. There are also 3 Contemptor Dreads running Multi-meltas making them great ranged anti-armor threats for the list that can also continue to be healed thanks to the tech marine if needed. There is also an additional Redemptor Dread running mostly chaff-killing weapons with the addition of a Plasma Incinerator for even anti-armor threat.
Fast Attack brings in a total of 6 Bikers and a single Land Speeder for a needed boost in mobility and a mix of chaff-clearing, scoring, and one more multi-melta for good measure.
Lastly, there is a single Heavy Support in the form of a Repulsor, which is running almost exclusively chaff-clearing weapons, making for a serious threat that can wipe out entire squads every turn.
