Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40k Series with Amazon: It’s Happening!
Big news for Warhammer fans! After two years of waiting, we’re finally seeing some serious movement on Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 project. If you’re as hyped as we are, here’s what we know so far.
Amazon Studios and Games Workshop have officially locked in their agreement to adapt the epic Warhammer 40k universe into a full-blown cinematic franchise. The first step? A TV series with multiple stories. Yep, the project has been greenlit, and things are rolling.
The Deal is Done
Games Workshop confirmed they’ve reached a final agreement with Amazon. This isn’t just about the TV show—it covers films, series, and even merchandising rights. That means you can expect not only epic storytelling but also plenty of cool Warhammer merch to go along with it.
This all came just in time, too. According to Games Workshop’s financial report, they and Amazon had until December 2024 to finalize the creative guidelines. Thankfully, they’ve hammered out (pun intended) all the details, and now it’s full speed ahead.
Henry Cavill: Superfan Turned Superstar Producer
Henry Cavill isn’t just starring in the series—he’s also an executive producer. For Cavill, this project is personal. He’s been a Warhammer fan since he was a kid, and he’s not shy about how much this means to him.
“I have loved Warhammer since I was a boy, making this moment truly special for me,” Cavill said when the project was announced. “The opportunity to shepherd this cinematic universe from its inception is quite the honor and responsibility.”
Cavill recently shared on Instagram that he’s been deep in concept discussions with Games Workshop and Amazon Studios. His team has been sifting through Warhammer’s incredible lore, figuring out the best way to bring this grimdark universe to life.

What’s Next?
The TV series will officially kick off the Warhammer 40k cinematic universe. While we don’t have a release date yet, the writing team has already put in the work. They gathered in what’s called a “content-room” to map out the show’s creative direction, and the feedback has been so good that Amazon gave the green light to move forward.
No showrunner has been named just yet, but we’re guessing that announcement is right around the corner. In the meantime, Warhammer’s iconic mix of over-the-top sci-fi battles, complex characters, and grim themes has fans counting down the days (well, Games Workshop said years…) until they can see it on screen.
Why It’s a Big Deal
This isn’t just another sci-fi series—this is Warhammer 40k, a franchise with decades of lore, a massive fanbase, and a reputation for being one of the most unique and gritty universes out there. With Henry Cavill’s passion for the project, Amazon’s production muscle, and Games Workshop’s attention to detail, this could be the franchise’s big moment to break into mainstream entertainment.
Stay tuned as more updates roll in. It looks like the Imperium is just getting started with what GW has dubbed Project One.
New Amazon Prime Video Warhammer 40k Episode is Full of Warhammer Moments
Warhammer fans, it’s time to celebrate! The latest episode of Amazon’s anthology series, Secret Level, is here, and it’s pure 40k gold. Titled “And They Shall Know No Fear,” this 15-minute gem brings Lieutenant Titus from Space Marine 2 back into the action—and honestly, it might just be the best Warhammer TV we’ve seen since Astartes.
Let’s be real: Astartes set the bar ridiculously high for Warhammer on screen. The fan-made YouTube series captured everything we love about 40K—epic battles, brutal action, and the sheer power of the Emperor’s finest—all in just minutes. So, does the Amazon Prime Warhammer 40k Secret Level episode measure up? It actually does.
He’s leading the charge with his trusty trio of Bladeguard Veterans. Sure, it’s just a squad of four, but anyone who knows the game knows these guys can obliterate just about anything that stands in their way. The series landed on December 10th with Prime Video.

Henry Cavill Space Marine 2 Gameplay:
Cavill’s recent Instagram post about his Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 gameplay wasn’t just a shout-out to a favorite pastime but more of a geeky nod to fellow fans that he’s still very much in the trenches.
View this post on Instagram
This time, Cavill showed off his gaming setup, fully decked out with Space Marine 2, a game that pulls you right into the heart of the 41st millennium. His excitement was palpable, and his commentary was refreshingly honest.
He admitted that the hardest difficulty, Angel of Death, was a bit too much for him to handle alone—proving even Superman can’t solo the harsh realities of Warhammer 40k.
Cavill’s not just some casual player trying to wing it; he’s part of the legion. He even praised the PvP mode, which has started to attract attention for its intense, strategic gameplay. Still, he stayed modest, warning that his “dreams” for the game’s future might be, well, wildly unrealistic.
What makes Cavill stand out, though, is how genuinely excited he is about Warhammer 40k. He didn’t just wax poetic about the game’s campaign; he even made an easter egg joke hiding his username from curious fans. Maybe Henry’s a Tactical Ultramarine, fighting shoulder to shoulder with other players online, and you’d never even know it.
The man’s a true warrior in the hobby, and for those already in the Warhammer fold, he’s just like one of us—only, you know, famous and ridiculously good-looking.
A Perfect Match in the 41st Millennium
There’s something fitting about Henry Cavill’s love for Space Marine 2. This is the man who plays heroes with near-superhuman strength, and Space Marines aren’t exactly known for their subtlety. In the 41st millennium, they are towering behemoths, clad in massive power armor and armed with chainswords and bolters that decimate whole squads.
It’s no wonder Cavill felt right at home with this game, and while he’s quick to say he knows “nothing” about game development, fans can’t help but imagine a game co-designed by Superman himself.
What’s even more interesting is that Cavill plays the Ultramarine Chapter—basically the poster boys of the Warhammer universe. As far as lore goes, Ultramarines are the epitome of what it means to be a Space Marine: disciplined, relentless, and unyielding.
They represent the ideal soldier, upholding the tenets of the Emperor’s Imperium. Cavill’s Ultramarine Tactical class choice almost feels like an extension of his heroic roles, only with a bit more of a grimdark edge. Throw in a copy of The Horus Heresy: Massacre from the last iteration of that miniatures game on his desk, and it’s clear that Cavill doesn’t just play the games—he lives them.
First Amazon Warhammer 40k Show Announced: Titus Returns in Amazon Prime Secret Level TV Show
Amazon’s upcoming animated series Secret Level will feature an episode focused on Warhammer 40K’s Lieutenant Titus, with Clive Standen reportedly voicing the character in an episode titled Chaos. This anthology series will explore different video game universes, with Warhammer 40k being one of the headliners.
Directed by Patrick Osborne, the episode is expected to showcase intense action, pitting Titus against the forces of Chaos. Speculation suggests this could tie into the upcoming Space Marine 2 game and might hint at Amazon’s broader Warhammer plans, especially with Henry Cavill’s involvement in a separate live-action project. Get the full story here
Fans see this as a major step toward bringing Warhammer 40k into mainstream media. The success of Chaos could pave the way for more Warhammer adaptations, potentially leading to a larger cinematic universe. For both long-time fans and newcomers, this episode could be a key moment in Warhammer 40k’s journey into popular culture.

Henry Cavill & New Amazon Warhammer 40k TV Show Series
Here’s the initial announcement from Games Workshop and their Investor Page for movie star Henry Cavill starring and producing a Warhammer 40k TV movie show series for Amazon Studios!
Amazon Studios today announced that it has secured global rights to Warhammer 40,000, based on the immensely popular intellectual property from Games Workshop (GAW) that has given rise to an immersive global hobby – Warhammer. The agreement encompasses rights to the universe across series, film, and more, and will sit alongside GAW’s activities as they continue to make the best miniatures in the world. This is the first deal of its kind for Amazon Studios for IP of this scale, and it allows the company to utilize the title across its entertainment businesses. Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout) is set to star in and executive produce the Warhammer 40,000 franchise across all Amazon Studios productions.
Games Workshop has entered a contract with Amazon to make a Warhammer franchise for film and TV series, with Henry Cavill at the helm (see all his previous Warhammer 40k involvement here)! According to the investor page, they have secured only Warhammer 40k at this point, so it looks like the Horus Heresy movie might have to wait for a little.
Still, this is just pretty amazing news for the Warhammer hobby in general! From the looks of it, we’re still pretty far off in terms of seeing something according to the investor page:
Whilst the parties have reached an agreement on material commercial terms, the project is wholly dependent on and subject to contracts being agreed and entered into, which the parties are working towards.
The Company makes no change to its forecast for the period ending May 2023.
So, it seems like no money will be changing hands until perhaps sometime in late Summer or Autumn 2025 at the earliest. This isn’t too bad, considering this is something so extraordinary and really should be done “right” with respect to the tremendous source material!
The Warhammer 40k Movie Show Announcement From Henry Cavill

This is just insane news, and we hope they find a great writer to get the project off the ground! Considering they don’t have everything in place, don’t get too crazed, as we’re probably a ways off from seeing the first project. Now, it’s time to start making lists of who will actually play in the new movies and shows!
Games Workshop, Amazon Studios, & Henry Cavill Warhammer Show Series Contracts Signed
Announced on December 18th, 2023, Amazon Studios has acquired the rights from Games Workshop via contract to the Warhammer 40k IP, and Henry Cavill will star and produce a TV show, series, and movie for them!
There were rumors that pointed to Games Workshop and Henry Cavill no longer making a Warhammer series with Amazon. However, as rumors tend to do, they turned out to be not 100% accurate. You can read more about that here. Now that this project is official and the contracts are signed, it’s time for all parties involved to get to work. Here is the latest from Games Workshop about their agreement with Amazon Studios.
Two massive Warhammer projects, both championed by Henry Cavill, are officially on the way to your TV from Games Workshop and Amazon Studios.
Games Workshop’s Contract with Amazon to Develop Warhammer Films & TV Shows
In their investor post, it seems that Games Workshop is keeping an eye on the IP prize. They have built-in caveats to the deal on how Amazon portrays its universes. Which, you may recall, was a significant part of the previous “Amazon deal collapsed” rumor.
As we know, Games Workshop is very protective of its IP. So, hobbyists will have to wait at least a year for the two parties to come to a consensus on the look and feel of the new projects.
Games Workshop Confirms Female Adeptus Custodes in 40k
With the recent inclusion of two female members of the Adeptus Custodes, we may see even more diverse representation in future Warhammer releases, as well as these shows. So far, however, the only comment from Games Workshop or Cavill on that matter has been below, but many online have speculated that this revelation could have something to do with the Amazon show series project for Warhammer 40k.
Female Custodes Appear On Warhammer TV
In Warhammer TV’s Tithes Episode 2, a new chapter of lore unfolds as fans meet Tyrith, a towering female Adeptus Custodes, or “Femstodes.” Tyrith stands taller than the Space Marines of the White Templars and the Sisters of Silence, shaking up the traditional image of the Emperor’s elite guard.
Historically depicted as male, this shift adds depth and inclusivity to the Warhammer 40k universe in ways that some fans do not like.
Tyrith’s golden armor mirrors her male counterparts, with no stereotypical “boob plate,” emphasizing functionality and power. Her towering stature, coupled with a muscular, battle-ready frame, reinforces the idea that Henry Cavill’s favorite faction, the Custodians, male or female, are engineered to be the best.
Her presence challenges the long-standing assumptions about the Custodes and signals a future for Games Workshop where diversity in the Imperium is more than just background lore. The question on many hobbyists’ minds now may be if female Cusodes appear on Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40k TV show.
RUMORS: Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k Series Henry Cavill Casting Choices & News:
There are plenty of celebrities who are involved in the Warhammer hobby, but we always love to see more! The latest one seems to have been an internet fan poll that cast as Malacador the Sigilite in Henry Cavill’s new Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k series.
However, it may just be that his appearance at Warhammer World was just a coincidence for him as an actor.
Gary Oldman Spotted at Warhammer World!
View this post on Instagram
Gary Oldman is quite a prolific actor who has been in so many great movies, so it’s fun to see how much he and his family love Warhammer. Most recently, he was spotted with his sons at Warhammer World, but they have been collecting and playing for a long time now!
These pictures are from Charlie Oldman (Gary’s son), and it looks like they really enjoyed their time at Warhammer World! Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they showed off any of their painted miniatures, but according to some other hobbyists, they regularly check out some Warhammer stores in their local area.
Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k Series Amazon Casting News & Rumors:
These rumors from October 2nd, 2023 come from Valrak, and again, these are not confirmed, so don’t get too excited or mad about what you’re about to read!
Let’s start with Warhammer 40k casting news for the most likely show that has been thrown around a lot: Eisenhorn!
- Karl Urban- He has been in some of the best fantasy/sci-fi movies out there. From LotR, Dredd, Star Trek, The Boys, and so much more; there’s a chance he could even be Eisenhorn himself.
- Idris Elba- Is another amazing actor involved in plenty of sci-fi. However, not many rumors about what he would be in.
- Ana De Armas- This one seems simple; who looks more like Alizabeth Bequin than her? If you look at the cover, she is so close!
- Henry Cavill- It would only make sense that he would be in the show. We know he’s going to be the executive producer, but there are so many good options for him, including The King in Yellow!
Some people have been pretty down on the Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k series after The Rings of Power. However, with Henry at the helm and with how protective GW is of its IP, things should shape up okay. However, if he does play Highlander, and is in this series, we probably won’t see this for a little while.
We’ll have to see what other projects come out, but Eisenhorn would be the most obvious first step! That book series shows the 40k world in a great way, and there is plenty of action and drama to go on! Again, though, these are all just rumors, so take them with all the salt you need!
Rumors Point to Henry Cavill Leaving Warhammer Project
If you’ve been following the buzz around the upcoming Warhammer 40k Amazon show, you know that having Henry Cavill on board a movie project was a dream come true for many of us. But recently, whispers have been swirling that our beloved geek icon might be stepping away from the project.
Nothing is confirmed, and other creators online, like Valrak, have been saying that these are simply rumors. Some comments have even hinted that larger entertainment sites have made up this news to ensure a constant flow of clicks from the tabletop niche.
Either way, Henry Cavill isn’t just another Hollywood star; he’s one of us. He’s a self-proclaimed Warhammer 40k superfan, often sharing his painting and gaming sessions on social media. When Amazon announced he would be involved in the Warhammer 40k show, it felt like the perfect blend of star power and genuine passion.
Cavill was set to bring the grimdark universe to life not just as an actor but also possibly in a creative role, ensuring the series stayed true to the source material.
For now, we’ll have to play the waiting game. Keep an eye on official announcements from Amazon and Henry Cavill himself. The Warhammer 40k universe is vast and full of potential, and the show must go on whether or not Cavill stays on board.
First 40k Now Voltron: Henry Cavill Invades Another Nerdom
Henry Cavill is adding yet another iconic sci-fi franchise to his growing collection, and this time it’s Voltron! Yep, you read that right. The Superman and Witcher actor, who’s already got the Warhammer 40k universe in his grasp, is now joining Amazon’s live-action Voltron movie.
This marks the first time Voltron will be getting the big-screen live-action treatment, and fans are already buzzing about how Cavill’s presence could bring something extra to the iconic ‘80s series.
While Voltron is still gearing up in development, there’s some chatter about how Cavill’s schedule might be affected by his other big project—his beloved Warhammer 40k adaptation. This project, also under Amazon, has been the talk of the sci-fi/fantasy community ever since Cavill confirmed his involvement.
The Warhammer series promises to bring one of the most sprawling and grimdark universes in tabletop gaming to life, and Cavill’s known to be a huge fan of the lore, so he’s expected to give the project his all.
But the question remains: can Cavill juggle both Voltron and Warhammer 40k along with his other major commitments like the upcoming Highlander reboot?
One thing’s for sure: Henry Cavill is quickly becoming the face of Amazon’s nerdy, action-packed universe, from commanding giant robot lions to leading the charge in Warhammer 40k’s battlefields. It’s a good time to be a Cavill fan—or just a fan of epic sci-fi in general.
How Did Henry Cavill Get Into Warhammer?
On Jimmy Kimmel Live in April 2024, Henry Cavill tried to explain his pile of gray shame, how he got into Warhammer 40k, and how big his army is!
Ah, the picture that really started the craze. When he first posted it on Instagram, the hobby world went crazy. However, like most non-hobby people, Kimmel is a little confused about how it all works.
Maybe the best part of this interview is when Cavill talks about having too many gray miniatures! It’s also really cool to see Warhammer miniatures put up on the screen on national television.
How Big Is His Warhammer 40k Army?
When asked how games work, he tells him you need an entire army to battle with. However, he doesn’t directly answer how many miniatures he has or has actually painted ready for battle. Instead, he mentions he still has way too many gray miniatures, but who among us doesn’t have a giant pile of minis just waiting to get painted?
It only shows he is a real hobbyist because we all want to paint more, and we all have extra miniatures while making nothing compared to Cavill. If you had that much cash, think of how quickly your pile would grow!
When Did He Start Hobbying & Does He Play?
He says he got into the game in the early days, during the initial release of Warhammer 40k in the 1980s, and has really just kept going ever since. When pressed about playing games, he goes into more detail about how it all works (especially compared to D&D) but doesn’t say too much about how often he actually plays nowadays.
However, he did say one thing that most hobbyists should hear: It’s not about winning; it’s about taking part!
Henry Cavill Announces Fatherhood
Henry Cavill, the Hollywood heartthrob known for his roles as Superman and Geralt of Rivia, has once again captured the internet’s attention.
This time, it’s with an exciting and heartfelt Father’s Day announcement on Instagram that has sent both his fans and the Warhammer community into a frenzy. Cavill revealed that he’s soon to join the ranks of Warhammer dads everywhere, and his post couldn’t have been more endearing—or humorous.
