The new 2025 Tyranids Combat Patrol has a release date that’s still TBA, with a new retail price of $170 (see below for local currency conversions).

Is It Worth It?
Mostly? The 10th edition Tyranid Combat Patrol has pretty low value compared to some of the better boxes. Then, it has a somewhat unusual mix of units, but if you already have many of the more standard minis, this gets you the Genestealers (plus a few dollars) for free.

So, you’re wondering how the Warhammer Tyranid Combat Patrol points rack up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40,000 10th edition, this box hits with about 370-400 points. What to Buy Next?
Well, as we said, this doesn’t have a ton of core units or fodder, so you could easily keep adding on Termagants with special weapons, some more Genestealers, and maybe a Lictor or two. That would give you a pretty solid army, but you will still need a little more Synapse.
With the Hive Guard, you probably want a Hive Tyrant and something else big that can push home the damage. They also have a ton of new minis out right now (that dropped alongside the Space Marines in 2023), so you could easily pick up a bunch of the new stuff and just build an army around what models you like.
There is also something to be said about just buying the minis you think are cool and building an army around them!

2023 Box Set
Since 2022, there have been THREE Tyranid Combat Patrol 10th edition boxes. The second one, released in 2023, is packed with 32 miniatures into a strike force that’s all about bringing the pain with tons of bugs and shredding anything unlucky enough to stand in their way.
If you plan to use every unit inside, this may be the way to go (especially if you didn’t split the Leviathan box with someone in 2023).

2022 OOP Box
The first Out of Print (OOP) 2022 old Tyranid Combat Patrol was the Hive Mind’s little gift to new players. Released in March 2022, this set was packed to the brim with 43 models.
The box included a pretty focused collection of miniatures with a ton of little bugs to run over their enemies, and was on the higher end of the value of the old boxes, and the units included had a giant non-winged Hive Tyrant.
At a $150 price tag and an MSRP value of $230, it gave you about $80 in savings, assuming you actually needed everything in the box.

Final Thoughts From Us
It’s a solid unit lineup, but it doesn’t have much value or points, honestly. If you need everything in the box, it’s worth grabbing; if not, we might wait or pick up the units your army needs.
Sure, it’s not the absolute best deal on the market, nor does it make thematic sense. However, you get a decent amount of minis to paint and throw down on the tabletop for the Nids!
