Now, let’s jump into the new points!
GW Updates 10th Edition 40k Points For All Forge World Models
All the 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Munitorum Field Manual points come from Warhammer Community.
Unit sizes are now much easier to manage. Rather than adding individual models to a squad, you buy them in increments – sets of five models, 10 models, and so on. These generally correlate to the quantity you’ll get in that unit’s box, so you won’t need to agonise over how to include all of the models you’ve bought. It also helps to quickly understand the strength of a full squad at a glance, and makes list-building far quicker and simpler.
“However, for those who love to tinker and play with lists there is still tons of fun to be had by adding Leaders to units and applying Enhancements across your army. For example, armies like Death Guard have a range of options for attaching multiple characters to the same unit, resulting in dozens of potential ability combinations for their battleline of Plague Marines. As a result, list-building is as fun and varied as ever.
One very interesting thing to note here, some armies don’t get points for individual models, meaning you either pay one cost or another for the highest number. So you can’t take a unit of 5 (when the max is 6) without paying the full cost; quite strange.
As you can see, this was just version 1.0, and in 9th Edition, they released a 1.1 version after about a week or so that has already dropped for 10th Edition.
Plus, as you’re about to see, wargear is now free for factions, which is just wild! Let’s jump into the 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Munitorum Field Manual points by factions, now with Forge World!
Adeptus Custodes With Forge World 10th Edition 40k Points Added
The new edition makes sure that every unit has a role on the battlefield, and likewise every weapon option has a role to distinguish it from competing choices. By comparing the profiles and abilities, you can see for yourself that certain weapons are clearly better against different targets – determining the ‘best’ loadout for any unit depends on what you want it to do and what you think you’ll be facing, rather than just paying more for a ‘better’ gun. There will be situations when a flamer is much more valuable to you than a meltagun, and vice versa. In practice, we found that specific costs for different weapons typically added to the complexity of working out your army, for little gain regarding the actual output of the unit on the battlefield.
This will make magnetizing your minis way more important, as you can swap out whatever weapons you want whenever. Plus, they are one of the armies that use the most Forge World models, so it’s nice to finally get them!
Adeptus Titanicus Forge World 40k 10th Edition Points
If you want to take the giant models, now you have the points! It would be cool to see them drop the points values on the Reaver so you can take it as a legit 2k army!
Aeldari Points
Considering these encompass Eldar, Harlequins, and Ynnari, they have one of the most extensive entries in the whole thing, so there is plenty to sink your Eldar teeth into!
Astra Militarum Points
It’s nice to see the 20-man units for the infantry, but we’re not sure why they put 18-20 on them, as they already stated that it’s up to a certain number.
Chaos Knights 10th Edition Points
As always, the Knights are going to be expensive, but the enhancements really aren’t too much more than other armies, which is nice.
Imperial Knights Points
Just like with the Chaos Knights, you want to kit them out as much as possible, and the Enhancements really aren’t that expensive.
Drukhari 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Points
The Wych Cult side got hit pretty hard this time with fewer options and more points. However, overall, the faction came out pretty well, and Kabalite Warriors getting free upgrades really brings them to the forefront.
Grey Knights Points
Just like with all the other armies with big models, you want to put every single upgrade on your units and pick the best weapons for your game.
Necrons Points
Necrons have a large number of units, but they are another army that doesn’t have a ton of upgrades on normal units, so the extra wargear doesn’t mean a ton.
Orks Points
Orks have the second-biggest points sheet in the game right now, so there is plenty to go through and should be some fun list-making.
Space Marines Points
Obviously, Space Marines have the most points out of everyone; they also have all the Chapters with separate point sheets that you can check out here.
T’au Empire
Tau is very interesting this time around because they have all the wargear for units, and drones are basically tokens now. Meaning you can just add a ton of wounds and options for free. So, make sure you have plenty of drones hanging around.
Tyranids 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Points
The Tyranids are getting all kinds of new models and units this time around. None of the points look too bad, but with so many new units, you’ll have to get them on the tabletop to decide the best loadouts.
Adeptus Mechanicus 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Points
A lot of people said they more or less got NERFs, so let’s hope the points make up for it!
Adepta Sororitas 10th Edition Points
The points cost of a unit’s weapons and wargear are now incorporated into the cost of that unit – there’s no longer any need to count up all the individual weapon loadouts and do a bunch of arithmetic just to determine the total points cost of one individual unit. This makes mustering an army much simpler, and much quicker. It also frees people to make the units they’ve always wanted to, using all the coolest bits found on the kits without having to worry about spiralling points costs.
Well, it’s back now to the stage of giving your units everything! As all their wargear is already included, if you don’t have everything in your units, you’ll actually be missing out. So, get those units upgraded with the dopest bits.
Agents of the Imperium Points
The points look decent, and with the limits in this edition, you should be able to squeeze in quite a few agents.
Chaos Daemons Points
This is interesting for big models, as they can take whatever gear you think is the best, and Daemons of plenty of giant models to throw down!
Chaos Space Marines 10th Edition Points
Looking at their datasheets, the squads can’t be as specialized, but now it makes sense considering they get all the wargear for free.
Death Guard Points
They took the sting out of some characters, but Mortarion gets a big points drop here, so you can throw in more minis!
Genestealer Cults 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Points
Genestealer Cults have some super exciting rules and plenty of wargear options, so we’re excited to see them on the tabletop in the 10th Edition!
Leagues of Votann 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Points
Maybe the biggest winner here is the Hekaton Land Fortress, as they go way down in points and can take all the wargear for free! Beserks might be the biggest losers, as they look to have lost a lot and didn’t drop in points.
Thousand Sons Points
It’s interesting because Mortarion got a big points drop, but Magnus stays more or less the same points. However, we’ll have to see how he plays before deciding.
World Eaters Points
Angron goes up in points for the new edition, but he was a wrecking machine in 9th, so we’ll see how this affects overall lists.
