The icy wastes of Fenris are alive today with the arrival of the newest first draft FAQ for Warhammer 40k, this time for the Space Wolves!

GW is continuing it’s once a week trend of releasing a new draft FAQ each Wednesday, and while this week’s FAQ isn’t as big as the HUGE Space Marine FAQ, it is just as spicy on its rulings!

They also inserted questions on the Curse of the Wulfen book, and the Collecting Box Formation as well into this draft. Check it out!

Hot from the forges of the Iron Priests, we bring you the new draft FAQ for Codex: Space Wolves.

We’ve also included a new optional rule for your Dreadnoughts, so the ancients of the Fang can match their more Codex-compliant cousins blow for blow.

Now it’s over to you guys. Here’s what you need to do:
– Read through these draft FAQs
– If you think any answers need clarification, post up a comment on the relevant image
– Make sure your question is concisely written, and in plain English

Do the answers all make sense? Are they clear? Do they throw up any more potential issues?
(We’re looking primarily for whether you understand them, rather than if you like the answer.)
You have a week to get your comments in, then we’ll pass them on to the rules guys for the final FAQs.

We’ll be posting more FAQ drafts for feedback over the new few weeks, so if you’re eagerly awaiting the one for your codex, don’t worry, we’re on it.
Finally, we wanted to say thanks again to all of you who sent in our questions, to help make this game we all love even better.

Overall there are some BIG clarifications in play here for this round of FAQ action. First off is the Iron Priest debate seems to be settled now as you can take either HQ or Elite version in your army, and the HQ version retains the sole privilege of fielding the Tempest Hammer and Helfrost pistol.

They also settled the whole first turn assault of Wulfen by adding in an Independent Character who benefit them in some additional way, which RAW per the fleet rule would turn off Bounding Leap for the whole unit. You can still however assault with them first turn in other ways now, like by using the new Space Marine Psychic Powers in the Angels of Death book for instance.

The Wulfen seem to get a ton of other rulings go their way, including pretty much always being able to get their end of initiative Death Frenzy attacks even if the weapon they’re wielding strikes slower than that step.

For a Six page FAQ this thing is was packed with some serious in-game heat. Time to see how the game reacts to these new clarifications!
