Today we’re getting a look at new datasheets from the Xenos Imperial Armor book that are now up for pre-order on Warhammer Digital.

The Imperial Armor – Index: Xenos book is now available, and we’re starting to see the datasheets coming in. The latest images were spotted over on Imgur, but let’s take a look at the Meiotic Spores and Stone Crusher Carnifex Brood.

Tyranid Imperial Armor

The Meiotic Spores used to be a fan favorite amongst Nid players, and they may just be making a comeback. The main things you need to know about these is the 3″ Move and Floating Death ability. A Meiotic Spore explodes if it’s within 3″ of an enemy unit at the end of any Charge phase. Each time a Meiotic Spore explodes roll a D6. On a 1 it does not inflict any wounds, on a 2-5 it inflicts D3 mortal wounds on the nearest enemy unit, and on a 6 it does D6 damage on the nearest enemy unit.

Afterwards it is destroyed. These little suicide bombers are a great addition because their destruction never awards Victory points. But the downside to that is they do not count towards the number of models controlling an objective and they do not count when determining if a player has any models left on the battlefield. So set these little guys up in front of an objective and make it a little more painful for your opponent to get to, or send them out front of your line and force your opponent to go through them if they want to get to you.

The Stone Crusher Carnifex Brood is going to be a great addition to any Tyranid army. It’s coming in with a 7″ Move, WS/BS 4+, Strength 6, Toughness 7, 8 Wounds, 4 Attacks, Leadership 6, and a 3+ Save. It’s coming equipped with two wrecker claws and a thresher scythe. The wrecker claws are going to be a great melee counter to enemy vehicles. It’s a Strength x2, AP -3, and does D6 Damage. Against Vehicles and Buildings you get to re-roll all failed wound rolls, and if it has two wrecker claws you get to re-roll failed hit rolls as well.

Combo that with the Carapace Chitin Rams ability and you’re going to put a hurting on enemy vehicles real quick. It lets you roll a dice after finishing a charge move, on a 4+ one enemy unit of your choice within 1″ suffers a mortal wound. If the unit is a vehicle or building it instead suffers D3 mortal wounds.

Both of these units are looking like great additions for any Tyranid Army. Are you going to be fielding either of these models in your list? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
