Do you want a desert camo pattern for your Vanguard Space Marine Miniatures? Jack of Clubs’ latest painting tutorial will be a huge help!
Jack of Clubs has been gone for a while due to Adepticon 2019 preparations, but he is back now to give you another amazing painting tutorial. Get ready to learn the best way to paint your miniatures with a desert themed paint scheme. This Vanguard Space Marine from Showdowspear will get some desert camouflage love, so stay tuned!
The Vanguard Space Marine has been primed using Stynl Res Red Brown primer to get a good basis for our desert paint theme. After priming, the first color is Vallejo Heavy Brown to get a nice brown base coat.
After the Vallejo Heavy Brown, use some Citadel Ogryn Camo to add a layer of mid-tone khaki color to our desert Space Marine. Jack of Clubs is using a flat style of airbrushing the camo paint so that the camo pattern is more striking. He will be more heavy-handed when it comes to using the Ogryn Camo, but that will help the darker browns create a more shadow based effect. Stealth is key for a Vanguard Space Marnie!
Used next in our desert paint scheme is Citadel Krieg Khaki, which is an Edge paint, but it will work well in your airbrush with some Flow Improver. Krieg Khaki will be the brightest of our desert camo browns, which will add more contrast to our camo pattern to make it more striking.
Once we have finished with our desert brown base-coats, we will start to create some camouflage patterns using Vallejo Heavy Siena. These camo shapes will add a little red content to out desert camouflage pattern to create the U.S. Army ‘chocolate chip’ desert camo pattern.
The camo stripes will be more like Tiger stripes that can help create more stealth for your Vanguard Marines!
