Wyatt is a frequent guest on The Long War TV, but he does his own work as well! This time around he’s flexing his love for Gundam and Warhammer by bringing the two together in an awesome mashup project to create Char’s Iconic Zaku.

Jack of Clubs ZakuHere was his first “test” model using Mark’s Gundam Primaris Conversion Bits.

Let’s check out his next project on Char:

Jack of Clubs ConversionFirst off we see the base model with the pieces he acquired from Shapeways fixed onto the model. Shapeways is a website that will 3D print objects for you, usually submitted by other designers.

Shapeway gundam sprueThe material is a little unique in that it is slightly translucent. The sprue itself is simple and for around $30 you get enough bits for 10 Marines.

Jack of Clubs baseFirst off, after the model is together, we need to get a nice flat black primer coat and follow it up with some pre-highlight. Keep the angle of the airbrush high and slowly spray on that white coat all over making sure that our original black primer stays in the recesses.

Jack of Clubs redFrom this point on he only uses Pro Acryil brand paints, so any paint colors, are their brand. The first base coat is Burnt red and a good amount of flow improver to dilute it a bit. Then mix Bold Pyral Red, Titanium White, and Bright Ivory in a ratio at about 4:2:2 and take that mix and apply it to the top sides of the model, similar to our pre-highlight.

Lastly, to get he simply goes over the torso and skirt with a brush-on coat of burnt red to better resemble the Gundam.
