Even more new MTO Forge World Horus Heresy upgrades, this time for the Ultramarines and Thousand Sons, have been revealed by Games Workshop.
This will be cast in resin from Forge World, so if you were hoping for all-new plastics for your models, it looks like we won’t be getting everything in plastic for Horus Heresy after all…
This is also one of the first times they just came right out and said they will be MTO from the get-go, which is interesting. Maybe people were getting a little confused about when they would actually be getting their bits.
More New Forge World Horus Heresy Upgrades Revealed
These updates were from this Warhammer Community post.
MKIII power armour is good honest ceramite, perfectly suited to dense combat environments – MKVI squads shouldn’t get all the love just because they’re the new kids on the block. Not only are the sculpted ‘Ultima’ symbols easy to paint, the tastefully thick trim means more of those gold embellishments the XIII Legion loves so much.
It’s nice to see them give the other versions of power armor some love, but maybe it’s even better to know whether something will be MTO or not right when it is announced.
Ultramarines MKIV Torsos
MKIV ‘Maximus Armour’ offers a balance of agility and durability, and finds itself right at home in the Legions of Ultramar, which are renowned for their strategic flexibility. Customised by the artificers of the 500 Worlds, these MKIV torsos feature additional armour plating over their power cables – which leaves plenty of room for fancy sculpted Legion motifs.
With a little extra armor, you’re sure to be safe from the traitors, right?
Ultramarines Veteran Helmets and MKIII Veteran Torsos
All Ultramarines respect the strict hierarchies dictated by Guilliman’s political philosophy. Somewhere near the top of this structure sit the Invictarii, an elite cadre of proven warriors and administrators, handpicked by the Primarch for future command positions. Their wargear marks them out as the best of the best, with the symbols of Macragge and the Imperium taking centre stage.
These heads are interesting, something feels a little off, but hey, maybe that’s just us!
Thousand Sons MKIII Shoulder Pads
Well now, what’s this? Even the galaxy’s greatest logistical minds can make a mistake now and then. These Thousand Sons shoulder pads have somehow found their way to Ultramar – but they’re being repackaged and sent on to Prospero, where they’ll make a squad of Magnus’ sons very happy. They’re perfect for anyone looking for a thicker trim on their sorcerous shoulder pads.
These are actually pretty cool, and if you want some MKIII Thousand Sons, they are perfect.
Liber Imperium Releasing in North America
The Liber Imperium book was also delayed in North America, but now looks like that will be available soon.
Speaking of Loyalists, the forces of the Emperor are now dispatching to the North American territories, in a bid to oust any dug-in Traitors attempting to stand up to the combined might of the Imperium.
After being delayed in the Warp, Liber Imperium is available for pre-order now in the US and Canada, and will be released this Saturday.
Hey, it’s better late than never! So if you’ve been patiently waiting for the book, be sure to grab it this Saturday.
