Painting OSL Light Effects: Galharen Tutorial for Miniatures
He’s already painted the rest of the mini, so the only thing left to do is paint the hammer! He starts with a white undercoat.
Step 1:
To start, he sprays a smaller white halo on the handle and hammer where he wants the light actually to be coming from. Next, he mixes Plasmatic Bolt and Sapphire Blue in a 50/50 mix and a little bit of airbrush thinner. He then sprays that mix on the bottom of the lighting and slowly moves towards the top, i.e., where it would naturally be darker.
Step 2:
Now he moves to just Plasmatic Bolt and sprays this more towards the top, but also blends the other mix with it too.
Step 3:
He starts by edge highlighting all the areas with white and then does a wash of white on the entire hammer to really bring out the contrast. Finally, he cleans off the excess with some white spirit.
