10th Edition Warhammer 40k Core Rules: Shooting Phase

10th-Edition-newn-rules-core-warhammer-40k1Even more Warhammer 10th Edition 40k core rules have been spotted on the web, including the new Shooting, Lone Operatives, and more!

With the 10th edition rules that dropped in June 2023, it made sense we saw some leaks hit the internet before it. It’s always nice to get a sneak peek into the rules, and these looked like they were taken from the book, but with any leaks, some things here may slightly differ from official rules. Click the links below for the latest on 10th Edition Warhammer 40k and the full articles!

10th Edition 40k Core Rules: Shooting Phase

The new Warhammer 40k 10th Edition rules were spotted on Imgur, but we have them all here.

10th Edition 40k Shooting RulesYou still have to declare which models/guns are shooting at what before you resolve any attacks, so there is nothing shocking here.

10th Edition 40k Shooting Rules 2Considering most characters now join units, being a Lone Operative will be somewhat rare. However, it no longer has anything to do with the closest unit or anything like that. You can target them as long as you are within 12″ of the model. Screening characters will now be easier and harder than ever before, as they can simply sit far away and remain out of reach. That being said, when the enemy gets close, there is no protecting the model.

Making Ranged Attacks

10th Edition 40k Shooting Rules 3First, you keep making attacks even if you lose visibility of the unit, as long as you start within visibility. You still finish all attacks with one weapon before moving on.

Locked in Combat, Stealth, and Big Guns Never Tire

10th Edition 40k Shooting Rules 4Next up, we have Stealth and the Big Guns Never Tire rules. Stealth subtracts one from the hit roll of every unit shooting at it, regardless of the range. Then vehicles and monsters can still shoot in combat. Remember, units can only target other units that they are engaged with. You can also shoot at vehicles and monsters in combat with your own units, but the engaged unit cannot. Each side gets -1 to hit unless you have a pistol.
