Contents List, Release Date, Pricing & Value
Released first in White Dwarf 504, Games Workshop gifted us the Na’Pok’s Hunters, a Kroot Combat Patrol for Warhammer 40k. But there’s a catch: unlike most combat patrols, this one doesn’t come in a neat, discounted box.
Instead, you’ll be building it yourself, and let’s be honest, you’re in it for the love of the game (and maybe a bit of that tasty Kroot lore). The Kroot combat patrol release date was September 2024.
This new Combat Patrol offers a unique playstyle and a narrative full of tribal survival, brutal hunting, and, of course, heaps of carnivorous action. .

Is it Worth It?
Well…. not really. There’s not too much else to say about it. Unless you already have and need all of these minis for your 40k army, we wouldn’t spend this much to just play CP. You don’t use any characters in this either (like the Kroot War Shaper), so this isn’t even technically legal in 40k, as you at least need a warlord.
How Many Points is it?
So, you’re wondering how many points the Tau Kroot Hunting Combat Patrol box racks up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 450-500 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.
One minute, you’re ready to spread the Greater Good, and the next, you’re recalculating your list because the points gods have decided to have some fun.
Where To Buy Your Box
Technically, this isnt available in a box format. But you can make it from the Kroot in the Tau Army Box, or just pick the units up seperately you may be missing.
Snag your new models from our handpicked list of retailers, and give us a high-five in support! Every qualifying purchase helps Spikey Bits keep the lights on and the fun going.

New Na’Pok’s Hunters Kroot Combat Patrol 40k Rules
You can download all the rules for the CP here! For enhancements, you’ll have to decide between Feel No Pain (and a sweet free move) and Precision for the bearer and a unit of Carnivores.
Either way, both of these are really cool and work perfectly with the theme. Because, let’s be honest, why wouldn’t a hunting pack be able to take out characters?
For secondaries, you can try to get to the battlefield edges or go with the more killy approach and just pick units you want to wipe off the battlefield! Either way, you have plenty of movement and fighting power, so they should be achievable.
Clubbing Blows is quite powerful, as getting extra damage is always huge. If you combine Weak Spots with the Hunter’s Eye enhancement, your Kroot Carnivores will be quite formidable in the shooting phase.
As usual, these data sheets for the Tau Kroot Combat Patrol are a little simplified and slightly changed for the smaller-scale games.
Final Thoughts From Us
So there you have it, the Na’Pok’s Hunters are your very own band of meat-loving mercenaries ready to tear through anything that dares stand in their way.
This Combat Patrol offers a wild ride filled with brutal tactics and plenty of carnage.
It might not save your wallet, but let’s be honest: the satisfaction of watching your Kroot rip through the enemy like they’re at an all-you-can-eat buffet? Priceless.
