The First Space Marines, In Plastic – 40k Flashback

Checkout this relic from the forgotten past. The classic Astartes RTB-01 accessory sprue that Forge World has based all its Horus Heresy models on!

Today I would like to share with you the old RTB01 Accessory Sprue.  RTB01 was the old Rogue Trader Box set of plastic Space Marines, and this was the accessory Sprue that came in it.

You may notice some similarities with the new Forge World Pre-Heresy Heavy Weapons set, as I am sure they based that kit off the old plastics (as well as the “new” Land Raider and Vehicle upgrade kits etc).

While I used the Power Fist off this sprue (cause it was the only plastic one at the time, and I really needed to make a conversion), it’s still a great glimpse back to the beginnings of 40k. And of course how far these miniatures have come!

Here’s a couple of pictures of the old box set I found on the web. It’s pretty neat to see how they all went together.

Enjoy the pics below, and have a great weekend!

Whats you favorite older kit, or bit? -MBG
