What if I told you that water and toilet paper could break open a water melon? You’d probably call me a liar. However, Allen, over at sufficiently advanced, would like to show you a video. Yes, using nothing more than water and toilet paper Allen is able to slice through a watermelon with a fairly blunt sword he made using Pykrete. Presumably a human head as well, because if watching deadliest warrior has taught me anything it’s that a water melon totally counts as a human head.
You an see the mold here, fairly simple, some toilet paper, a card board mold, an some plastic wrap to keep it from sticking to the mold.
Allen explains in his vide0 that pykrete was invented in the UK (Just like the 40k version! coincidence? I think not) as a cheap building material for aircraft (!!!!!) using ice and saw dust. Allen however used a different method, water and toilet paper to make his pycrete.
Of course, the large version needed a big freezer, aka, the icy north and not the sunny south. Sorry Florida readers you can’t try this at home unless you happen to have a walk in freezer.
In the video you can see him not only construct his sword but also add a nice LED touch to give his sword a touch of blue light special swagger.
Allen notes that his monster sword is actually much lighter than he expected, partly due to the fact is mostly toilette paper, and then then ensues to wield it against a variety of targets. From watermelon to frosty the snow man no one is safe.
Lets just say, if you have young kids that love frosty, this probably isn’t the video for them. The video itself is fun so I would recommend you check it out!
