Are the 8th Edition 40k winds of change already starting to blow across Games Workshop’s inventory supply of rule books? Come see the latest.

As we hear more and more rumors about an 8th edition of Warhammer 40k, another possbile indicator of a shift to new rules, or codex books may be starting to emerge in the form of “no longer available” Codex books across the globe.

Miniwars is reporting a list of just such Codex books:

“For several weeks in countries with local stores or Códex translated, they are increasingly Códex with Sold Out (no longer available) instead of” Temporarily out of stock “even some have gone from Temporarily to Sold Out of overnight.
Spain – Codex Space Marine (Spanish)
UK – Necrons (Inglés)
France – Codex deathwatch (french), Necrons (Inglés), Tau (french)
Germany – Codex Necrons (Inglés), Necrons (deutsch), Astra Militarum (deutsch) Blood Angels (deutsch)
USA / Canada – Dark Angels (Inglés) Blood Angels (Inglés)
Japan – Chaos Daemons (japanese), Chaos Space Marine (japanese), Tyranids (japanese), Necrons (Inglés)
New zealand / Australia – Dark Angels (Inglés), Astra Militarum (Inglés)

The list has not been looked at many countries, the list come from  / 4chan who have spent several weeks following up on these countries but looking at some random as Poland also appears for example the English Necron Sold Out.

Now don’t get it twisted, this can mean a lot of different things, like perhaps they are going to soft cover, awaiting a new print run etc.

It is however interesting to see that several of the same books have been taken down worldwide however. Plus one we know for sure (Astra Militarum) has gone to paperback.

As we march forward to a new year, it’s probably a good idea to keep an eye on trends from Nottingham so we can plan our our hobbying (and budgets) accordingly.

So what say ye? Is this a trend, or just a inventory coincidence?
