Don’t miss the latest teaser pics and all the key points Games Workshop wants you to know about the Space Marine Primaris Impulsor Dedicated Transport.
Warhammer Community dropped a preview showing the Impulsor with its wargear options. While we’ve already seen all the wargear datasheets, points, etc. in the past, but now we can also see more variants of the model itself.
Impulsor Datasheet
Altogether, the Impulsor is sitting just under 100 pts no matter really which wargear options you choose. Make sure you get the full points breakdown if you haven’t already.
But for the cost, you get a 14″-moving, somewhat tanky toolbox unit that can be kitted to fit a variety of different roles. Some people have been complaining about it’s 6-man carrying capacity. However, a squad of Hellblasters with a Captain rolling up to the scene doesn’t sound all that bad. Plus, you can also keep things cheap and bring the Assault 3 bolter Intercessors to fend off hordes. There are definitely uses for the vehicle. Breaking down the wargear used to fit different roles:

A 4++ invuln on a fast, aggressive chassis is fantastic. While this thing doesn’t have very high damage output, it’ll be able to get to the frontlines, charge and tie up a variety of threats while not going anywhere.
The Orbital Comms Array is something that’s kind of iffy…It’s essentially the Orbital Bombardment Stratagem that never works and is overcosted for Space Marine armies anyway. It just seems like a static 4++ invuln is the way to go. As for weapons, the Skytalon Array is a cheaper AA plinker. It will be hitting Flying things on 2’s and 3’s pretty comfortably but at only S4 (even with the +1 to wound) and 1 damage, you might only be able to get an extra wound or two in on something like a Stormraven or Crimson Hunter. It’s definitely not a reliable dedicated AA- gun. Against things like Shining Spears or Venoms, that’s a different story. You could kill off a model or two with this thing.Lastly, the Missile Array is the most versatile of all the weapons. It’s your generic missile launcher profile with a set of Icarus missiles that can actually hurt some chunky Flyers.
At the end of the day, this thing will probably see use in a variety of different forms. Mostly dependant on the Chapter Tactics. However, being that this is a Dedicated Transport, lists can take as many as they want of these. With their affordability in terms of points and unlimited allowance, we could see Space marine parking lot lists in the near future.
