Tomb Kings Host of Nehekhara, Red Gobbo: Pre-Order Pricing & Lineup

new tomb kings warhammer new next week pre order releases

The Warhammer Old World Tomb Kings Host of Nehekhara Army Reinforcement Set and Red Gobbo pricing and lineup are here for what is hitting pre-order this Saturday.

GW slapped a “while stocks last” label on three of this week’s Tomb Kings products, so waiting around very long may not be the best plan to score these releases. The GW Sunday Preview revealed a big 78-model skeleton box, a new Arcane Journal, plus matching dice and cards.

Everything except the book has that limited tag, too. Oh, and Da Red Gobbo on his Squigmobile is already showing up in October, so we guess GW’s Christmas season is getting started early. And it’s only just a few weeks after the Big Autumn Preview.

Here’s everything going up for pre-order this Saturday, along with what we think about the new stuff.

The latest Warhammer 40k pre-orders are here, and these factions have some new kits coming their way.

Everything goes up for pre-order on Saturday, October 24, around 1 p.m. EST in the States, with a street date of Saturday, November 7, when the kits hit store shelves.

Still waiting for something else? Check out our updated Warhammer Roadmap for 2026 to see what’s coming.

Prices outside the US and Canada may be approximate; check your region on the GW site on Pre-Order day for the exact amounts.

Da Red Gobbo Pre-Order: $48 (USA), $57 (Canada), £29 (UK), €36 (EU), ¥6,500 (Japan), ₩62,000 (Korea), $78 (Australia), $92 (New Zealand)

Da Red Gobbo 2026 festive miniature riding his squigmobile

This year’s Red Gobbo is cruising around on a squigmobile, because what else would a grot revolutionary use to deliver stolen Christmas presents? It fits him pretty well, honestly. He’s the annual festive mini, so we’re guessing most people picking him up are collectors keeping their streak alive.

Just look at our list of every festive and exclusive mini to see how long some of those collections have gotten.

One thing to know, though: the rules aren’t in the box. You’ll need the Festive Activities Guide from your local Warhammer store, which has rules for 40k, Kill Team, and Blood Bowl. So if you want to actually play with big red here, you’ll need to make that shop trip.

Da Red Gobbo Hobby Tips

Definitely paint the squig and the grot separately before putting them together. It’ll save you some headaches. Grab a nice bright red for his hat and coat, then use that same red somewhere on the squigmobile to tie everything together. You want the whole thing to look like one big gift-wrapped disaster on the tabletop. Throw a little snow on the base, and you’ve got the Christmas look without much extra work.

We’ve got new Warhammer: The Old World pre-orders coming, so get those wallets ready.

Host of Nehekhara Army Reinforcement Set Pre-Order: $227.50 (USA), $275 (Canada), £140 (UK), €180 (EU), ¥32,800 (Japan), ₩310,000 (Korea), $390 (Australia), $460 (New Zealand)

Tomb Kings Skeleton Chariots from the Host of Nehekhara set

Host of Nehekhara skeleton units with command options

So what are you getting in this box? A whopping 36 Skeleton Warriors, 36 Skeleton Archers, and 6 Skeleton Chariots, with champions, musicians, and standard bearers for every unit. If you started your Tomb Kings army with the launch box, this is basically another big helping of the core units. And honestly, those blocks of 36 skeletons are exactly the kind of thing you want marching across the table in a 2,000-point horde because that is a whole lotta bones!

The catch? That “while stocks last” label. GW hasn’t listed the price yet, and once this bundle sells out, you’re back to buying the regular kits to fill those ranks. Also, before you go ordering movement trays, take a look at our Old World base sizes guide. Trust us, you don’t want to find out you guessed wrong after building 78 skeletons.

Host of Nehekhara Army Reinforcement Set Hobby Tips

With this many models, you’re going to want a system. Build your command models first and put them aside, then knock out the rank and file like an assembly line. Spray everything with a bone-colored primer, hit it with a brown wash, and drybrush the bones back up. Keep the shields and chariot trim to one accent color across all 78 models, and the army should look like it belongs together without making every skeleton a whole project.

💡 Skeleton Warriors, Archers, and Chariots first showed up in the Tomb Kings of Khemri launch box; see our coverage here.

The River of Bones Arcane Journal: $30 (USA), $35 (Canada), £17.50 (UK), €22.50 (EU), ¥4,100 (Japan), ₩39,000 (Korea), $49 (Australia), $58 (New Zealand)

Settra’s on the march toward Bretonnia, and apparently his High Priest decides poisoning a water source in Athel Loren is a good idea along the way. Yeah, that’s not exactly going to make the neighbors happy. The Wood Elves get dragged into the fighting, and both armies pick up new Armies of Infamy and expanded magic items.

Here’s the part we didn’t really expect: there are Gargantuan Treemen rules for the Wood Elves in here, too. So it’s not just a Tomb Kings book after all, and we wouldn’t be surprised if plenty of Wood Elf players grab a copy just for those rules.

Tomb Kings Dice and Cards:

  • Dice: Direct Only, This item is available only from Games Workshop; stores were not solicited for it.
  • Cards: $47 (USA), $57 (Canada), £29 (UK), €36 (EU), ¥6,500 (Japan), ₩62,000 (Korea), $78 (Australia), $92 (New Zealand)

Tomb Kings bone-white dice and reference cards

The dice pack gets you 20 bone-white dice with the Tomb Kings icon replacing the six. You’ve also got 54 reference cards covering magic items, army abilities, spells, and incantations. Personally, we’d probably get more use out of the cards. Nobody wants to spend half their game digging through two books just to find an incantation.

Both sets are limited, too. So if you’ve been wanting some matching dice to go with all those new skeletons, now’s probably the time.

Black Library: New Pre-Order Releases

new from black library banner

There’s another batch of Black Library books going up for pre-order this week, and there’s a bit of everything. Whether you’re into huge battles, weird mysteries, or stories about heroes trying to survive the mess they’re in, there’s probably something worth checking out.

Grey Knights Special Edition

  • Direct Only: This item is available only from Games Workshop; stores were not solicited for it.

Grey Knights by Ben Counter special edition with red foil page edges

Ben Counter’s Grey Knights is getting the fancy special edition treatment. We’re talking red foil page edges, a red ribbon bookmark, a foil-debossed cover, and even an extra short story. Pretty nice if you collect these editions. Just remember, it’s limited, and it’s NOT going up for pre-order with everything else on Saturday.

Instead, be ready on Wednesday, October 28, at 3 p.m. UK time. Might want to set an alarm for that one, as these special editions tend to disappear pretty quickly, and a Wednesday release isn’t exactly convenient if you’re stuck at work.

New Black Library Hardbacks:

  • Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning: $18 (USA), $22 (Canada), £13.50 (UK), €15.50 (EU), ¥3,000 (Japan), $28 (Australia), $34 (New Zealand)
  • Raptors: War and Shadow: $30 (USA), $35 (Canada), £17.50 (UK), €22.50 (EU), ¥4,100 (Japan), ₩39,000 (Korea), $49 (Australia), $58 (New Zealand)
  • Crucible of Fire: $30 (USA), $35 (Canada), £17.50 (UK), €22.50 (EU), ¥4,100 (Japan), ₩39,000 (Korea), $49 (Australia), $58 (New Zealand)

Black Library hardbacks Raptors War and Shadow, Crucible of Fire, and Da Red Gobbo's Reckoning

We’ve got three new hardbacks this week. Raptors: War and Shadow by William Crowe throws the Raptors up against a tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan. Meanwhile, Crucible of Fire by Tom R Pike follows Astra Militarum survivors trying to hold out against an Ork horde. Sounds like they’re having a great time, right?

Then there’s Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning by Callum Davis, where a bunch of Ratlings get sent after the Gobbo himself. If you’re already picking up his new miniature and going all in on the festive grot stuff this year, that one’s a pretty natural fit.

New Black Library Paperbacks

All four books are the following prices each: $17.99 (USA), $21.99 (Canada), £13.50 (UK), €15.50 (EU), ¥3,000 (Japan), $28 (Australia), $34 (New Zealand)

Black Library paperbacks Armageddon Season of Fire and Death Rider

Black Library paperbacks Ghost Legion and Treachery Unbound

Four more books are getting paperback releases. Armageddon: Season of Fire by Jude Reid fits nicely with all the Armageddon stuff GW has been putting out this year. Then there’s Rhuairidh James’s Death Rider, which follows a commissar trying to stop a Krieg suicide attack because, for once, pulling back from the T’au actually makes more sense.

We’ve also got Mike Brooks’s Ghost Legion, following Solomon Akurra’s Alpha Legion warband, and Treachery Unbound, an anthology that’s easy to pick up one story at a time. So, if you’ve been holding off because you didn’t want to pay hardback prices, well, here’s your chance.

Final Thoughts on the Tomb Kings Pre-Orders

Tomb Kings rise again Sunday Preview share image

If you’re playing Tomb Kings, there’s a lot to like here. You can take a launch-box army and turn it into a proper skeleton horde with one purchase, while the River of Bones Armies of Infamy give you some new ways to use those big blocks. We still need to see the price, though, and with that limited tag hanging over the box, you might not have much time to decide once it goes up.

GW is also teasing this year’s Battleforces already, which fits right in with the Christmas Battleforce rumors we’ve been following.

So with Da Red Gobbo already making an appearance, GW’s Christmas releases are starting to come together. The rest should be showing up over the next few weeks.

And don’t forget to check the newly updated Warhammer The Old World roadmap, especially now that the Wood Elves are getting dragged into the Tomb Kings’ story.
