The Tau have had a fairly decent ride in 8th edition 40k. With their codex being on the older side, Psychic Awakening is showing to definitely be a nice boost. However, even without the new rules wave, they’re consistently hovering near the top of the meta! And with more and more of the spotlight shifting over to the Tau in recent days, it’s time to check out some of the best-painted Tau we’ve seen.

What are the Tau good at?… SHOOTING. The Tau are unmatched in terms of firepower and dope alien tech. Offering a happy balance between Ballistic Skill and unit spam, Tau have dedicated their lives to go all-in on ranged warfare. Adopting suits that are able of withstanding all types of weather, this Sept has painted their armor to match the frozen wastes where they live.
The army includes a Ghostkeel, Broadsides, Stealth Suits, and the Mac-Daddy Taunar Supremacy Armor. The bases are custom-made with patches of snow and the golds are a non-metal metallic finish. Just check out the attention to detail with hand-laid edge highlights and glow from the fusion weapons as well. And of course, to offer up the most flexibility to the army, the weapons have been magnetized.
One of the biggest models the Tau has to offer is the Taunar Supremacy Armor suit, which can actually fit in a 2,000 pt game. This thing can level Knights with its weapons but you’ll want to dump a fair amount of points into Drones to stand near this big kahuna because he WILL have a target on his back!
