FFG Star Wars Miniatures Moving to Atomic Mass Games

start wars legion vaderAll three Star Wars Games are moving to Atomic Mass Games from Fantasy Flight Games including Legion, Armada, and X-Wing.

Atomic Mass Games is Asmodee’s miniatures game focused studio and they will be taking the helm from Fantasy Flight Games moving into the future. Both of the studios are under the Asmodee banner, so don’t get too worried! You may know Atomic Mass Games from their Marvel Crisis Protocol line.

They have been pumping out so many new minis lately, it makes sense they would want a more focused studio on the development. Let’s take a look at what they have to say about it!

The Star Wars Games are Moving to Atomic Mass Games

asmodee walAsmodee is announcing today that oversight of its three Star Wars miniatures titles will be moving to their dedicated miniatures games studio, Atomic Mass Games.
The development of all future miniatures games will be handled by Atomic Mass as well. The move to a specialty studio positions Asmodee’s miniatures titles for even greater success in the future.

Looks like they will be taking the helm for not only Star Wars but all their mini-games moving forward. Hopefully, with the specialization, we’ll get even better quality products and games.

Let’s hear what Steve Horvath, head of US publishing, had to say about it:

Atomic Mass is committed to bringing people together through fun games, and Star Wars has been bringing people together through the power of myth and story for over 40 years. Combing their talent with the strength of our current Star Wars miniatures games and the limitless possibilities of a galaxy far, far away is going to lead to incredible new experiences for tabletop gamers and Star Wars fans to enjoy.

We’re excited to see where they take the game! We expect to see some big things coming soon!

The Transition

star wars legion clone warsThey aren’t just going to hang them out to dry either. Here is what they have to say about the transition:

Simone Elliott, who has shepherded Fantasy Flight’s relationship with Lucasfilm Licensing since 2015, will lead Atomic Mass Games during this time of expansion as Head of Studio. Will Shick assumes primary creative oversight as Head of Product Development. Joining them will be key members of the teams involved in the creation and evolution of Fantasy Flight’s current Star Wars miniatures games, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Wars Legion, and Star Wars Armada.

It’s good to see they are bringing some of the team along. So, hopefully, the games will stay true to the essence of why we love them!
