Look Out Scalpers: Good News For Kasrkins, 40k Kill Team & More

New-releases-kasrkinThere is actually some good news for anyone who wanted Kasrkins, 40k Kill Team Soulshackle, and the new Warcry boxes that are going for a premium!

We’ve been seeing more caps recently than before (well, than the past year or so), and the Kasrkin box, Soulshackle, and Warcry box were heavily allocated to stores and sold out online in basically no time. So, that part doesn’t really sound like good news, but, things are actually looking up a little bit for stores and players alike.

Let’s first check out the allocations we saw, then get into the good news.

Recent Caps / Allocations

allocations

Here are the caps that were told to stores in some cases one day before pre-orders went live on Games Workshop’s own webstore.

  • Individual Kill Team Boxes (Kasrkin, Breachers, Kroot, and Necrons)- Two per store
  • Individual Warcry warband boxes- Two per store
  • Starters for Kill Team and Warcry- Three per store
  • Horus Heresy Jetbikes- One per store

With caps so tight, basically, no one was able to score them either online or in stores. However, it seems like GW was just a little behind with the new releases for stores and their own webstore. These were some of the most anticipated releases in a while, as neither the Kasrkin nor Adeptus Arbites have had a new kit in a long time. But… GW couldn’t seem to get the release together.

Now, let’s check out the good news.

Good News For New Kasrkins, 40k Kill Team & Warcry Releases

New-releases-kasrkinSo, what’s the good news? Stores can order the new Kill Team boxes (like Kasrkin, Necrons, etc.), the new Soulshackle starter, and Warcry boxes from the week before as “restock items”.

We talked a lot about how the restocks are already way behind schedule, so if you want to read more about how this is just going to compound into a bigger issue, you can check that out here.

As of this writing, some items supposed to be included in the restock, such as the Kasrkin and the Kill Team: Soulshakle box, are already sold out on Games Workshop’s US website!

However, all the stores we have polled have had their restock orders of these recent new release items confirmed.

sold out gwSo like we said, good news all the way around as after what may be 2-4 weeks, stores will be able to get these items for their customers.

Going forward, if stores can get the restock before the GW webstore does, this means people will be more likely to patronize their local shops for these items.

It also gives the stores a bit more of a level playing field versus the GW webstore, which had an unfair advantage over them on the pre-order weekend. s

Even though this could clog up the main Games Workshop warehouse down the road with an increase in orders at the same time as the incoming price hikes, at least stores and customers can get the new boxes sooner than later and not have to pay an insane amount on eBay!
