Games Workshop’s Sunday Preview revealed the new Warhammer Christmas Boxes 2026 lineup, hitting pre-order this Saturday.
GW revealed fifteen Battleforce boxes across 40k, AoS, and Horus Heresy this morning. Here’s the interesting part: every box is $255 in the States, but there’s almost an $80 gap between the best and worst savings.
That’s quite a spread, right? Cult of Destruction leads the pack at about $164 saved, while Champions of Fenris and Angelus Assault Force come in at around $85 each. And there’s something for the Tolkien crowd, too, with classic Middle-earth Evil kits returning through Made to Order for Games Workshop’s Warhammer Black Friday release.
So, what’s actually worth picking up? Here’s the full Saturday pre-order lineup and what we think of each box.
Warhammer 40k: New Pre-Order Releases:
First up, Warhammer 40k. This time, a good mix of factions is getting boxes.
Pre-orders start Saturday, November 14, around 1 p.m. EST in the States, and the boxes hit store shelves on Friday, November 27.
Waiting for something else? Keep an eye on our updated Warhammer Roadmap for 2026.
Prices outside the US and Canada may be approximate; check your region on the GW site on Pre-Order day for the exact amounts.
Space Marines Indomitus Task Force Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Got a friend starting Space Marines? This is probably the box we’d point them toward. You get a Terminator Captain, a Chaplain, a Redemptor, five Terminators, five Assault Intercessors, and ten Intercessors. That’s around 775 points, with about $125 saved versus buying everything separately.
The downside is if you’ve played Marines for years, you’ve probably got a lot of it already. Starting a second Chapter, though? You could use everything here, and the Redemptor is a big part of why the value works.
Space Marines Indomitus Task Force Battleforce Hobby Tips
Don’t glue the Redemptor’s weapon arms on until you’ve painted them. Knock out the Intercessors and Terminators squad by squad, then spend the extra brush time on the Captain and Chaplain. Those are the ones everyone’s going to look at first.
Space Wolves Champions of Fenris Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Logan Grimnar, Arjac Rockfist, and fifteen Wolf Guard Terminators are a very on-theme Space Wolves box. The downside is the value: you’re saving about $85, tied for the lowest savings in the whole wave.
So, do you want a big wall of Terminators? If so, you’re getting around 800 points of hard-hitting Wolves, and Logan’s got a proper crew to run around with.
Space Wolves Champions of Fenris Battleforce Hobby Tips
With fifteen Terminators, magnetizing their weapons makes a lot of sense if you like changing loadouts between games. For the pelts, start with warm brown and drybrush up to bone so the fur stands out across the table.
Blood Angels Angelus Assault Force Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Dante, a Jump Pack Chaplain, the Death Company Brutalis, Sanguinary Guard, and jump pack Death Company? It’s pretty clear what this army wants to do: drop in and start swinging. You’re saving about $85 here, though, or roughly 25% off $340 worth of kits.
The Blood Angels upgrade frame counts toward that value, and while it’s handy, it’s not another unit. But if Dante and the Brutalis were already on your shopping list, the rest feels like it’s being thrown in honestly.
Blood Angels Angelus Assault Force Battleforce Hobby Tips
Pin those jump pack Marines to their flight stands before gluing. They’re top-heavy, and that’s where they tend to snap. Paint the Death Company black first, keep them away from the red armor while you’re working, and add the red saltires at the end.
Chaos Knights Helhunt Lance Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Only five models to paint in the Hellhunt Lance, which is around 865 points on the table. You’re also saving about $153, roughly 38%, which puts it third for savings across the wave. Not bad for such a short painting queue.
The Ruinator kit can make four different big Knights, and each War Dog has three build options. So even if you’ve already got some War Dogs, at least you’ve got different ways to build these.
Chaos Knights Helhunt Lance Battleforce Hobby Tips
Magnetize the big Knight’s weapons and carapace if you want access to all four builds. Paint the War Dogs together, then give the big Knight its own week on the hobby desk.
Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
If you’re an Iron Warriors player, this looks a lot like your Christmas list. Warpsmith, Defiler, Venomcrawler, Obliterators, Havocs, and Mutilators, all in one box. That’s something like 950 points and about $164 saved, the biggest savings of all fifteen boxes.
Not a basic Legionary in sight, either. It’s all heavy hitters. Been thinking about starting a daemon engine army? This is one seriously good way to get going.
Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction Battleforce Hobby Tips
Try dark-brown sponge chipping on the Defiler and Venomcrawler before adding rust washes. And tape off the hazard stripes on the Defiler’s legs if you’re after that Iron Warriors siege-engine look.
Orks Armored Blitzmob Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
A Warboss in Mega Armor and three Meganobz piled into a Battlewagon? Yeah, that sounds like an Ork plan.
The Blitzmob saves about $133 and ties for fourth in this lineup, though roughly 605 points is on the lighter side. That’s because so much of the dollar value is tied up in the Battlewagon. But, if you’ve been wanting one for ages, well, here’s your excuse.
Orks Armored Blitzmob Battleforce Hobby Tips
Test-fit the Battlewagon and Gunwagon pieces before gluing anything, and leave the deck plate loose while you paint inside. Try three or four different metal tones on the Meganobz, so each suit looks like it came off a different wreck.
Necrons Disciples of the Nekrosor Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
The big draws here are the Nightbringer and Nekrosor Ammentar. You also get Ophydian Destroyers, a Doomstalker, Warriors, and Scarabs. All told, that’s roughly 890 points and about $122 saved.
The catch? Those two characters are taking up a lot of the value, so if you picked them up when they first released, this box probably won’t be nearly as tempting.
Necrons Disciples of the Nekrosor Battleforce Hobby Tips
Paint the Nightbringer’s cloak separately before you glue the whole model together. For the Warriors’ gauss weapons, a bright-green glaze over silver gives you a quick glow.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: New Pre-Order Releases
Next up, the Warhammer Age of Sigmar boxes.
Cities of Sigmar Knights of Hammerhal Battleforce:
$255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Want cavalry? Well, Tahlia Vedra, ten Freeguild Cavaliers, and a Cavalier-Marshal make this a pretty straightforward, hard-hitting mounted force. It’s around 760 points, with about $121 saved, or roughly 32% off $376 in kits.
Just keep in mind that Tahlia makes up a big chunk of the value. Already have her? Then you’re mostly buying Cavaliers, and the deal isn’t quite as exciting.
Cities of Sigmar Knights of Hammerhal Battleforce Hobby Tips
Paint the horses and riders separately, then glue them together once they’re done. Give the plumes and barding a shared color so all ten knights look like they belong to the same regiment.
Stormcast Eternals Annihilation Host Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Pre-Order: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU)
Bastian Carthalos, a Lord-Celestant, a Lord-Relictor, three Praetors, and nine Annihilators. If you like your Hammers of Sigmar in heavy armor, there you go. You’re looking at around 970 points and about $133 saved, putting this near the top of the AoS boxes.
And nine Annihilators is a pretty solid chunk of the slow, armored units Stormcast players actually put on the table that doesn’t feel like filler.
Stormcast Eternals Annihilation Host Battleforce Hobby Tips
A gold or warm-metal spray primer on the Annihilators can save you a ton of basecoating. Just decide how you’re splitting the Meteoric Grandhammers before gluing on arms.
Slaves to Darkness Legion of Damnation Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
There’s a Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount leading Chosen, Varanguard, Chaos Knights, and Chaos Warriors here. That’s around 1,090 points, the biggest points total among the AoS boxes, and about $126 saved.
You can also build the Lord as Eternus, Blade of the First Prince, right from the same sprue. A named-character option on top of all that cavalry is pretty nice too!
Slaves to Darkness Legion of Damnation Battleforce Hobby Tips
Stick with one Chaos god’s colors for the trim and cloth to tie the Warriors, Knights, and Varanguard together. Dark metallic armor with a black wash should help you get through the batch faster.
Maggotkin of Nurgle Plaguesworn Host Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Forty models spread across seven units is a lot to score in one box. You’re looking at roughly 910 points and about $109 saved, around 30% off $364 in kits. And the lineup doesn’t feel padded out, either.
Sure, it’s toward the bottom of the AoS savings list. But for someone starting Maggotkin, this gives you a full army to build on, which might matter more.
Maggotkin of Nurgle Plaguesworn Host Battleforce Hobby Tips
A sickly green contrast over white should get those Pox Wretches painted pretty quickly. Keep the gloss varnish for the boils and open wounds until the very end.
Nighthaunt Court of the Undying King Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
You’ve got Nagash leading Dreadblade Harrows, Dreadscythe Harridans, Bladegheist Revenants, and Grimghast Reapers. That’s about 1,450 points, more than any other box in the wave, with roughly $113 saved.
But here’s the thing: Nagash accounts for about half those points all by himself. Want to run him? Great. Don’t want him? The box suddenly looks a lot less appealing.
Nighthaunt Court of the Undying King Battleforce Hobby Tips
Prime the ghosts white, then use pale green or blue contrast for a quick spectral glow. Definitely paint Nagash in subassemblies; those robes and spirits make it a pain to get a brush in there once he’s glued together.
Orruk Warclans Grunta Stampede Battleforce: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
It’s the big pigs box: two Maw-Gruntas and six Gore-Gruntas, just eight models total. That’s around 790 points of Ironjawz cavalry, with about $111 saved, or roughly 30% off $366.
Both Maw-Gruntas have the Tuskboss, Gouger, and Hakkin’ Krew build options, too. When you’re working with only two big models, being able to change things up is handy.
Orruk Warclans Grunta Stampede Battleforce Hobby Tips
Magnetize the Maw-Grunta riders and weapons if you want to swap between all three builds. A warm-brown wash over the pig hides will help bring out that leathery texture.
Warhammer Horus Heresy: New Pre-Order Releases
For 30k players, this week’s pre-orders bring two different boxes for The Horus Heresy Age of Darkness.
Legiones Astartes Vanguard Assault Battle Group: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Mark VI Marines finally get a big box: thirty Legionaries, a Praetor, a Contemptor, a Rhino, and a Predator. The savings? About $160, roughly 39% off $414 in kits. That’s second only to Cult of Destruction across all fifteen boxes.
That’s a pretty big discount for Heresy. And with around 870 points, two vehicles, and a Dreadnought, you’re getting a proper army core rather than just more infantry.
Legiones Astartes Vanguard Assault Battle Group Hobby Tips
Build the Tactical Squad five Marines at a time so you can keep those shoulder pads straight. Paint the Rhino and Predator hulls together, too, since they’re getting the same Legion colors and weathering.
Legiones Astartes Heavy Assault Battle Group: $255 (USA), $310 (Canada), £160 (UK), €206 (EU), ¥36,300 (Japan), ₩340,000 (Korea), $435 (Australia), $515 (New Zealand)
Six Cataphractii Terminators in a Land Raider, backed by Mark III Tacticals, Breachers, and a Command Squad. Not exactly subtle, is it? You’re getting around 870 points and saving about $131, roughly 34% off $386 in kits.
Already picked up the Siege Assault Battle Group last winter? Then you’ve already got these Cataphractii and Breachers. This one’s a much easier sell if you’re starting a Mark III force from scratch.
Legiones Astartes Heavy Assault Battle Group Hobby Tips
Keep the Land Raider’s side hatches and sponsons off until you’ve painted the interior. Don’t be shy with the drybrush on the Cataphractii, either; that chunky armor catches highlights nicely.
Middle-earth Battle Strategy Game: New Pre-Order Releases
Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game gets some returning classics this week, too. These are Made to Order, so don’t miss the cutoff at 3 a.m. EST on Monday, November 23.
Middle-earth Made to Order Evil Kits
Easterlings, Mordor Orc Captains, Wargs, and Mordor Trolls are coming back, along with Sam and Frodo in scavenged Orc armor and a Ringwraith on Fell Beast. Missed these classic metal kits the first time? Here’s another shot.
Just remember that Made to Order kits can take up to 6 months to ship generally, so if that Fell Beast is on your list, don’t leave the order until the last weekend.
Final Thoughts on Warhammer Christmas Boxes 2026 Pre-Orders
So, which one would you actually want this holiday? Cult of Destruction, Vanguard Assault, and Helhunt Lance lead on savings, while Fenris and Angelus make more sense if those characters were already on your list.
Pre-orders open Saturday, and boxes land on Black Friday while stocks last. Got your eye on one? Better have your pick ready when orders go live. That being said, many stores have already started taking preorders on these since they were solicited for them on Monday, November 2nd, so check with your local game store to get in on the list now, or see if you got to start looking around to score yours.
