Jonathan Summerfield 1

Jonathan’s CSM list was led by a Chaos Lord for a one-per-battle buff and a good body, Fabius Bile for extra durability, and a Sorcerer for re-rolls and mortal wound output. While, a single Cultist mob helps round out points and add a few cheap wound soakers.

The Renegade Raiders detachment grants all Heretic Astartes Assault AND +1 AP against targets on objectives. The Sorcerer in Terminator Armor adds ANOTHER +1 AP for units with a psychic ability each turn.

Straight into transports, there are three Rhinos for extra shot output and some cheap protection for units on the early turns. Continuing on the mobility plan there is a single unit of Bikers to help chip at enemy models while zipping around the board.

Three Destructors add in some dedicated ranged threats that are also fairly durable! Two units of Chosen bring in some very elite bodies bringing great stats, solid ranged options, and great melee options.

“Destructor” gives +1 AP when shooting infantry. That can quickly become: 6 S9, AP-4 3D shots into elite infantry. Those Havocs can even get up to Eight S5, AP-2 shots a pop!

Two Havocs bring in more ranged threats that can clear whole units, while a unit of Warp Talons closes out the list with a hint more of mobile bodies.

There you have it: the top Warhammer 40k army lists from the Bristol Super Major were ruled by Chaos Space Marines, Necrons, and Black Templars.

Jonathan’s CSM army came out on top thanks to its huge focus on a mix of threats. Bringing in strong, durable units. Each unit has strengths from melee to mobility and even ranged firepower. Overall, studying these army lists offers some insight for newer Warhammer 40k players and pros alike.
