GW’s latest Warhammer 40k rumor engine preview looks like a drone controller, but could it be something different, like a sensor, or both?
Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be! Whatever the case, we can’t wait to see what Games Workshop has in store when it’s finally revealed. Let’s take a look and try to guess until then!
Rumor Engine: April 8th, 2025
The latest rumor engine is very clearly an RC controller or heartbeat sensor of some kind. There are also clear humanoid hands, looking pretty stocky, so Votann and standard Humans are most likely, no Eldar, Orcs, or Chaos.
On a sidenote, if you’ve played Call of Duty Warzone, the heartbeat sensor from it does resemble the screen on the controller in the Rumor Engine.
The Votann Kill Team even has a model (front left) holding a similar data pad close to his chest! We don’t usually see new bits that resemble something in the real world so clearly in 40k, but this is certainly blurring the line!
Still, this is a hard engine to place; it really could be anything, just with a controller and screen!
