The 40k Dawn of War Onslaught board game is finally hitting stores; see what hobbyists are finding at Target and Barnes & Noble now!

Games Workshop just confirmed it, the Dawn of War board game is actually happening and hitting Target and Barnes & Noble shelves soon.
No more blurry leaks to squint at, no more wondering if someone was just having a laugh with a red spray can and a camera from 2002. This one’s real.
Here is the latest from Games Workshop on the new Dawn of War: Onslaught Board Game that is already here!
That Red Sprue? Yeah, It’s Legit
Remember that leaked image with the Dawn of War logo slapped on a red plastic sprue? Turns out it wasn’t just some clever kitbasher trolling us. Luckily, the leak also contained the new Chaos Knight kit, and that turned out to be 100% accurate!
What we’re getting looks a lot like a Dawn of War-themed boxed set in the style of the Space Marine Adventures series; a tidy little intro game with models and rules that’s perfect for casual players or anyone who just wants an excuse to paint some Primaris.
What’s Inside the Box?
Games Workshop sneakily put an image of the new board game in with their Skulls preview video on May 22nd, 2025.
So now the star of the box looks to be the full “Honoured of the Chapter” sprue (that we’re hoping comes in the box based on the rumor pics), featuring:
- Primaris Chaplain
- Bladeguard Ancient
- Judiciar
- 3 Bladeguard Veterans
- 3 Eradicators
The Honoured of the Chapter Sprue, which looks the same as above, is just red in the leak.
And they’re all molded in bright red plastic, giving this box its signature Dawn of War look. Normally, that Honored of the Chapter sprue from Indomitus alone runs $168 on GW’s website.
So, if this box lands in the $35–$50 range like the Space Marine Adventures sets, it’s going to be a serious deal.
Dice, Tokens, Cards, Oh My
It’s not just minis either. The box looks packed with extras: dice, stat cards for Orks, spawn points, red icons that could act like reactors or objectives, and a modular board system that hints at replayability. Word is the Marine stats are more fleshed out than what we saw in earlier Adventures boxes, so this might play a bit deeper, too.
Where To Get Yours
This all started as a suspicious, microwave-quality leak, but it actually got its official reveal back on May 22 at Skullz; so while we weren’t crazy to question those blurry photos, the game’s existence is now confirmed.
From the looks of it, this has already hit Target stores. We do have a product link for Barnes and Nobles but it doesn’t look like it’s actually filled out quite yet and of course eBay doing what eBay does already has it up for double the price so you’ve got options out there but the best might be to just wait for it to come back in stock at Target or to actually come into stock at Barnes and Noble.
The new Dawn of War: Onslaught board game from Games Workshop has landed well, at least at Target. So, it’s already popping up on shelves, though the Barnes & Noble listing is still looking a little empty.
Meanwhile, eBay’s doing its usual routine with marked-up listings for the impatient. So, unless you’re itching to overpay, your best bet is to either scoop it up at Target if you spot it or hang tight until Barnes & Noble actually gets its act together.

Why This is Worth Grabbing
If this box delivers even half the contents we’re hoping for, at a fraction of the price of buying those minis individually, it’s shaping up to be an easy pickup. Whether you’re chasing Dawn of War nostalgia or just looking for a casual, fast-playing game to add to the collection, this one’s going to move quickly when it lands.
Final Thoughts From Us
If you blink, this thing might already be off the shelf. Dawn of War: Onslaught dropped faster than a Drop Pod with engine failure, and if the leaked contents hold up, it’s easily one of the better value-packed boxes we’ve seen in a while.
Skip the scalpers, keep an eye on your local Target, and maybe send Barnes & Noble a polite nudge while you’re at it. This box won’t stay in orbit for long.
