Clues hidden in plain sight may shed some light on the pose and 40k rules for the highly anticipated Fabius Bile minaiture for Chaos Space Marines!
Long-time fans of the Emperor’s Children have a special place in their hearts for Fabius Bile. Lorewise, he wheels and deals gene-seed, Primarchs, and other valuable resources to fuel the Chaos cause. In the latest bundle of previews, bits and pieces of his model were teased.
While we don’t have a full picture of him just yet, we might have a strong clue as to what his pose will be.
Remember Mephiston’s Release?
Remember when Mephy got Primaris’d? We saw bits of his model previewed and we could make a few rough guesses as to what his model would look like. Some eagle-eyed fans out there pointed out that it was probably a close match to the Mark Gibbons artwork out of the old Angels of Death codex.

Once Mephiston was finally revealed, we saw that it was basically the exact posing from the artwork. Of course, you could change it up a little bit and also have him pointing his Plasma Pistol at something too. But you get the idea.
Do we Have a Hint At the New Fabius Bile Model Pose?
So far, these are the bits we’ve seen. Pay especially close attention to the little dude pulling the gene-seed out of the Primaris Marine’s neck.
Dating back to the 1996 Mark Gibbons artwork of Fabius Bile in the Chaos codex, we might have just seen GW pull the same move that they did for Mephiston.
Fabius’ artwork from the older book shows him with all his wargear and two cronies carrying his stuff. There are some slight differences from what’s been seen on the model and in the artwork, however. For example, it looks like Fabius is holding his Xyclos needle pistol by his side instead of in front of him and the dude on the left is pulling gene-seed from what looks like a regular Marine.
But given the fact that we’ve seen the syringe guy on the left is some pretty strong evidence that we’ll also be seeing the guy on the right holding the tank of gene-soup. If we do see Fabius Bile hit the scene with a couple of other models in his kit, we might see him work similarly to the way the Dark Apostle does with his underlings carrying a huge book and censor.

Ruleswise his update could be a mix of older themes and new stats to fit more into 8th Edition 40k. However, if the rumors are to be believed he may just have a bigger part to play in future releases like Fulgrim, and Noise Marines as well.

We’ll have to wait for official previews showing off Fabius’ entire model but after seeing the same pattern done for Mephiston, it’s definitely interesting.
