Free Warhammer Mini of the Month: How To Claim Yours in February

Free warhammer mini of the month hor wal space marin primaris words free 1

Get a free 40k Tyranids Termagant mini alongside the latest GW coin promotion for the February 2026 Warhammer miniature of the month!

That’s right, it’s back again, and it’s FREE! Each month, Games Workshop offers a free “miniature of the month” at their stores based on the latest faction release, along with a promo coin.

It’s a fantastic way to try out new painting techniques or start a new faction without breaking the bank.

Here are all the details on that free mini offer, and a few more promos in February from Games Workshop.

Free Warhammer Miniature of the Month: February 2026

Updated on February 2nd, 2026, by Rob Baer with the latest promo details from GW.

TL;DR
  • February 2026 free mini is a Tyranids Termagant: grab it at a GW Warhammer store while supplies last
  • $100 spend gets the coin: if it’s in stock, the Iron Halo coin should be yours with a $100+ purchase, simple as that.
  • Weird February change: GW says you must ask each store when the mini and coin are available, so timing may vary location to location.
  • Overseas assembly rule: in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and the UK, you’ll need to assemble the free mini in-store.
  • More freebies and side quests: bring-a-friend gets a free Stormcast or Infernus Marine, plus the Million Miniatures Challenge is running now.

Free Termagant miniIn February 2026, the free Warhammer miniature of the month is a Tyranids Termagant model.

Why You Should Grab It:

Termagants are the classic Tyranid foot soldiers for a reason. They look fast, hungry, and disposable, but on the table, they are the kind of “disposable” that somehow keeps winning you missions. The current kit has loads of motion in the poses, plenty of chitin texture, and enough little details to make them feel like a living swarm instead of copy-paste gribblies.

Also, there’s something deeply satisfying about putting down a carpet of gaunts and watching your opponent do the mental math of “How am I killing all of that?”

On the hobby side, keep your scheme simple and repeatable, then cheat the “wow” factor with a clean wash and a crisp highlight on the chitin ridges. If you want a quick visual pop, push contrast where it counts: darker recesses in the ribcage and joints, brighter edges on the plates, and a slightly different tone on the weapon casing so the model reads clean from arm’s length.

Keep in mind that we never really know whether the Warhammer store will open a unit box for the free model or if you’ll get a complete miniature on its own sprue.

GW’s Iron Halo Collectible Coin Promo For February

Iron Halo CoinThis Iron Halo coin will be available starting in February. But like the mini, there’s no exact date. So if you’re there this month for the coin, be sure to ask your GW store manager for the date so you don’t end up spending $100 and miss out on it.

How to Get the Warhammer Miniature of the Month & Coin

GW store inside model Games Workshop price increase

The Citadel collectible coin promo and free miniature of the month are available while supplies last, at your local Games Workshop Warhammer store. Which means you might be able to get a coin and the free mini on an all-in-one trip, which is cool.

Either way, all you have to do is visit the store, and if it’s in stock, the coin should be yours when you spend $100 or more, no matter how you slice it.

Latest Changes for the Promo

One major change in February, compared to normal, is that they say you must ask the manager at each store when the coin or mini will be available. Usually, they give a date when both the coin and the mini will be in stores.

Maybe this means each store will have them at different times? We’re not sure why they made the change, but if you want a free mini or the coin, be sure to contact the GW’s Warhammer store closest to you.

Don’t forget that the rules for this promo overseas changed, too. If you get your mini in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, or the UK, you will need to assemble it in-store. We’re honestly not sure why the change occurred, but if you’re in any of those countries, you can’t just walk out the door with it like here in the States…

They can choose either a free Stormcast Eternal or an Infernus Marine push-fit miniature, and start learning how to paint it right there at the store!

Million Mini Challenge

Million mini challengeGames Workshop is also running two new hobby promos, alongside the Warhammer Miniature of the Month; the Million Miniatures Challenge (pledge to paint 25, 50, or 100 minis between January 17th, 2026, and May 9th) and a referral side-quest called Call to Arms (starting January three, 2026) that rewards you for bringing new players into a Warhammer store.

If you do have a store nearby, pick a pledge you can realistically finish, keep your tracking card updated, and show up early because “while supplies last” usually means “blink and it’s gone.”

Final Thoughts on The Latest Free Warhammer Miniature of the Month

Tyranids grabbed a lot of new minis in 10th Edition, but getting one for free is always a fun bonus. Might as well get a free mini to mess around with paint schemes for a brand-new Hive Fleet. Also, what Tyranids mastermind doesn’t need more little bugs running around?

And honestly, even if Tyranids isn’t your thing, who’s ever complained about a free miniature landing on their desk?

Either way, February’s free Warhammer miniature of the month and collectible coin offer is a great opportunity to visit your local Games Workshop store and bring a friend along.
