New 40k Chaos Mutilators miniatures are here. Check their rules datasheets, abilities, and how these units may change your army’s game plan.

If you’ve ever looked at the Warp and thought, “Yeah, I can handle that,” congratulations. You’re exactly the kind of person who ends up as a cautionary tale with an axe for an elbow.

Games Workshop is rolling out a new kit of three Chaos Space Marines Mutilators, and the timing feels less like “random release” and more like “Iron Warriors plan coming together.”

Let’s break down what Mutilators are, why this release matters, and what their new rules mean for the rest of the Iron Warriors release.

The New Chaos Space Marines Mutilators Kit: What We Know

Updated on March 30, 2026, by Rob Baer with the official reveal and new rules. Pricing accurate as of this date.

New Chaos Mutilators Price & Release Date:

  • Chaos Mutilators Release Date: April 18, 2026
  • Retail Price (MSRP/RRP): $69 (USA), $83 (Canada), $117 (Australia), £42.50 (UK), €55 (EU)

A new set of three Chaos Mutilator models is being released alongside Kravek Morne and the Eye of Terror book

StormfiendsOne funny thing, these new Mutilators have some serious Skaven Stormfiends energy. Those AoS models are big, chunky, mutant-meets-metal brutes that are basically begging for Iron Warriors grime, hazard stripes, and a few extra cables and mech bits to really sell the fleshmetal horror vibe.

Iron Warriors Getting a Lot of Support

Chaos Space Marines MutilatorsMutilators are a common sight among Iron Warriors, with rumors that they intentionally infect recruits. That lines up neatly with the recent wave of Iron Warriors teases and the broader “devastation battery” vibe.

In other words, if you’re building or updating an Iron Warriors force, these are a thematic slam dunk.  Plus, this release also confirmed several long-standing CSM rumors of updated models.

40k Mutilators Datasheet Rules

Mutilators RulesThe new Mutilators rules are built for one job: arrive where the fight matters, make the charge, and turn that impact into a pile of mortal wounds and broken armor. They’re chunky melee infantry with Deep Strike, flexible weapon profiles, and enough durability to make the midfield feel unsafe in a hurry.

They’re not elegant, and that’s the whole charm.

  • Built like real elite bruisers: Toughness seven, five wounds each, a two-plus save, and a five-plus invulnerable save give them enough staying power to survive the kind of return damage that usually flattens lighter melee units.
  • Delivery built into the sheet: Deep Strike means they do not have to slowly waddle up the table and hope for the best. They can show up where the pressure matters and force a response immediately.
  • Charge reliability baked in: Crushing Charge lets them re-roll Charge rolls, which is a huge deal for a unit that wants to arrive from reserves and make contact without wasting a turn standing around looking stupid.
  • Impact damage on the way in: when they complete a Charge move, you roll a D6 for each model in the unit, and every four-plus deals D3 mortal wounds to an enemy unit in Engagement Range. That means they can soften up a target before the real melee starts.
  • Flexible melee profiles for different jobs: clawed sweeps handle lighter infantry with volume, rending strikes are the elite-killer profile, and thunderous blows bring the big Strength and AP needed for monsters and vehicles.

What Are Mutilators in 40k Lore?

Chaos Space Marines Mutilators DetailsMutilators are what happens when a Space Marine’s obsession with slaughter meets a Warp-born technovirus, and nobody hits the emergency stop.

mutilatorOld models

The transformation starts small. A compulsion to clean weapons, sharpen blades, and never let go of a favorite chainsword. Then it gets worse. Flesh and armor fuse. The host swells into a fleshmetal abomination. Their mind decays. Their body becomes a walking arsenal, eager to absorb daemonic weapons and “manifest” killing tools straight out of their own frame.

If Obliterators are the gun version of this nightmare, Mutilators are the melee answer.

This Release Confirms GW’s Iron Warriors Teasers

Here’s the spicy part. These new Mutilators were the latest in a string of confirmed rumor engine teasers for the Iron Warriors.

Iron Warriors footTo us, this looks like the same mutialtor foot above, just with a different paint job.

Iron Warriors Dreadnought Claw

This claw also looks solved by the new models, but again with a different paint scheme and shoulder pad.

The Takeaway: These New Mutilators Feel Like the Start of Something Bigger

Chaos Space Marines Mutilators Saw

At the end of the day, these new Chaos Mutilators look like more than a one-off resin relic finally getting dragged into modern 40k. The kit fits the current Iron Warriors push, the rules actually give them a real job on the table, and the timing around Kravek Morne and the Eye of Terror book feels way too deliberate to ignore.

So if you like hulking fleshmetal nightmares, hazard stripes, and the idea of smashing something apart straight out of Deep Strike, these things look ready to earn a spot in your army and on your hobby desk.
