GW revealed their latest Warhammer 40k releases featuring new Leagues of Votann, Salamanders, Slaughterbound, and Lord of Poxes, hitting pre-order this week!
That’s right, Games Workshop is kicking off the weekend with a Warhammer 40k pre-order lineup that’s anything but quiet. We’re talking fresh Leagues of Votann units, new Salamanders models that’ll make your green boys burn brighter, and some serious Chaos flavor courtesy of the Slaughterbound and a particularly grimy Lord of Poxes.
This latest wave is stacked, and it all hits pre-order this week. Let’s break down what’s hot, what’s heretical, and what’s going to wreck your painting queue.
Leagues of Votann Take the Spotlight (Again)
These products will be available for pre-order on Saturday, August 9th, around 1 p.m. EST in the States, with a shelf release date of Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.
If you’re still waiting on something to hit pre-order, be sure to check out the latest new release lineup in our updated Warhammer Roadmap for 2025.
New Warhammer 40k Pre-Order Releases:
Reinforcements are en route, as the latest releases for Warhammer 40k pre-orders have just hit the scene! These factions have new products that are locked, loaded, and ready for action.
Codex: Leagues of Votann
The Leagues of Votann are back in town with a shiny new codex, and no, they haven’t skimped on the extras. This 144-page brick of lore and rules comes packed with datasheets, Detachments, and just enough new mechanics to make your spreadsheet-loving heart flutter. The main attraction? Prioritised Efficiency, a fancy name for “do objectives, get bonuses.”
For the fancy crowd, the collector’s edition includes teal foil edges, unique art, and a ribbon bookmark. Yes, a ribbon. Like a real book.
Buri Aegnirssen
Once thought gobbled up by Hive Fleet Leviathan, Buri Aegnirssen is back from the grave, angrier than ever and armed with a glaive named Bane. He’s the only survivor of the Emberg-Aegnir Bloc, and now he’s a vengeance-fueled nightmare for anything with a carapace.
He brings five S12 or ten S6 attacks, shrugs off death once per game with a 2+, and operates as a Lone Operative, which means he does his own thing, no babysitters needed.
Arkanyst Evaluator
The Arkanysts are what happens when science fiction gets just enough caffeine. These tech-heads show up to the battlefield with a transmatter inverter that’s one part genius, one part health hazard. The gun’s got three settings, each more dicey than the last. But when it hits? It hits like a grav train.
Bonus: the kit includes two head options, one helmeted, one bare, depending on how reckless you want your mad scientist to look.
Memnyr Strategist
Meet the Ironkin who thinks five moves ahead. The Memnyr Strategist is the Leagues’ first robotic character.
He gives Steeljacks free Overwatch and Heroic Interventions, and fiddles with your Yield Points like a fiscal advisor with a bolter. Stylish cloak included.
Cthonian Earthshakers
The Cthonian Earthshakers are here, and they’re not just shirtless brawlers this time. Now they’ve got armored tank tops and massive artillery to match. Sensible fashion choices all around.
Each box comes with two artillery crews, interchangeable gear, and 555 decals. That’s not a typo. The box really includes more decals than a kid’s sticker book.
Ironkin Steeljacks
These are the Ironkin your tech-priest warned you about. With a 2+ save and the ability to gain Precision when punching enemies off objectives, Steeljacks aren’t just durable, they hit like thunder.
You can kit them out with heavy volkanite disintegrators or plasma swords, and one gets upgraded to Theyn if you’re feeling extra bossy. Bonus: you can swap those plasma swords for concussion gauntlets if brute force is more your style.
Kapricus
The Kapricus is what happens when you mix utility, firepower, and dwarfy stubbornness. This light vehicle comes in two flavors: Defender (with guns galore) and Carrier (with room for five Hernkyn Yaegirs).
You get three turret options, six swappable heads (including Ironkin), and yes, another 555-decal transfer sheet. Apparently, Votann players need a lot of flair.
Combat Patrol: Leagues of Votann
If you’re looking to start a Leagues force without building your list from scratch, this box has your back. It includes:
- Vynn Bane-slayer (Einhyr Champion)
- 5 Einhyr Hearthguard
- 3 Brôkhyr Thunderkyn
- 10 Hearthkyn Warriors
All of it’s pre-tuned for Combat Patrol mode, and the kit still lets you play around with cosmetics and gear. You even get two transfer sheets. Yes, still 555 decals each. We checked.
Votann Dice & Datacards
If you want your dice to look as good as your painted Kin, there’s a set of 16 sea-green ones with the Votann logo on the six. Add a deck of 26 datacards for rules at your fingertips, and your Oathband is officially ready.
Vulkan He’stan
The Forgefather is rocking a powerful new model, complete with bolt pistol, the Gauntlet of the Forge, and the Spear of Vulkan. He can lead squads like Assault Intercessors and Tactical Marines, and comes with two head options: dramatic and even more dramatic.
Combat Patrol: Salamanders
The Salamanders’ new patrol box brings serious heat. Inside:
- Adrax Agatone
- Invader ATV
- 3 Eradicators
- 5 Assault Intercessors
- 10 Infernus Marines
It’s a ready-to-go force for Combat Patrol, and while the rules are fixed for this mode, you still get options for painting and personalizing. Be sure to check out the value and pricing on this box here.
Salamanders Dice Set
Fiery yellow dice with black pips and the Salamanders Chapter icon. Roll them, melt your enemies, repeat.
World Eaters Slaughterbound
Now available solo, this slab of Khorne-infused beef is equal parts gladiator and Bloodthirster-lite. He can lead Eightbound units and revives one each turn just for showing up. Two heads included, plus an optional Khorne icon for when you’re feeling extra spiky.
Death Guard Lord of Poxes
Death Guard’s own Lord of Poxes is out and about, complete with cloud of foulness and plenty of gifts from Grandfather Nurgle. He pairs with Plague Marines and smells like victory.
Commemorative Captain Centos
Captain Centos is back, and is only available at Warhammer stores starting 9 August. He comes with two heads and Ultramarine flavor by default, but he’s fair game for any Chapter.
New Warhammer The Old World Pre-Order Releases
Gather ’round and ready your wallets because it’s time to revisit the battle-scarred world of Warhammer: The Old World! These new products may be your golden ticket to glory.
Bretonnia Made to Order
By royal decree, six sets of classic Bretonnian metal minis are coming back for a limited run starting 9 August. That includes:
- Peasant Bowmen (with command)
- Men-at-Arms with Spears (plus command)
- Men-at-Arms with Halberds (and command)
Each comes with ancient shields and paper banners that scream 1990s Warhammer in the best way. Orders close 18 August, and shipping can take a while, it’s Made to Order, not Made to Zoom.
New Black Library Pre-Order Releases
The latest Black Library pre-order titles are here; they’re hotter than a Salamander’s forge! So if you’re into far-future battles, mysterious quests, or tales of heroism, there’s probably something here for you.
The Lords of Silence (Illustrated and Annotated edition)
Chris Wraight’s grimdark gut-punch returns with fancy illustrations, author notes, and an afterword. Chaos has never looked so refined.
The High Kâhl’s Oath
Gav Thorpe’s first Leagues of Votann novel is back in paperback (English, French, German) and eBook. It follows Myrtun Dammergot on a galactic mess of a mission. Action, mystery, and Votann stubbornness guaranteed.
Final Deployment
RS Wilt’s latest sees Tempestor Traxel drop into a world on fire, haunted by his past and armed to the teeth. It’s a hard-hitting tale available in paperback, eBook, and MP3.
New Warhammer Official Licensed Product Pre-Order Releases
This week’s pre-orders are loaded with officially licensed products that’ll have your gaming table, wardrobe, or hobby shelf looking top-notch. Whether you’re eyeing that sleek new apparel or grabbing some collectible figures to show off your love for the grimdark future, there’s something for everyone.
TOMY Necron Scarab Plush War Crimes, but Cuddly
TOMY’s latest Warhammer plush is a Scarab. Yes, that kind. Only this one’s soft, squishy, and won’t flay your face off. Probably. Perfect for adding a bit of “aww” to your grimdark collection.
Final Thoughts On This Week’s Pre-Orders
Well, that’s the lot for new releases, and it’s a spicy one. Between the decal tsunami, Buri swinging for the fences, and Vulkan He’stan showing up like he owns the place (because he kinda does), it’s a good week to be a Warhammer 40k collector. From repping the Kin, fanning the Salamander flames, or if you’re just here for the Nurgle funk, there’s something worth grabbing.
Pre-orders open this Saturday, so set your alarms, charge your hobby budget, and brace your backlog, those sprues won’t glue themselves.
