PRO Acryl 1-Step Set 2 adds 12 more colors, with a pre-release at Gen Con, but now anyone can grab the new colors!
Anyone who picked up the first 1-Step set probably knows exactly which bottles ran dry first and which colors were still missing from the rack. Monument Hobbies is ready to fill some of those gaps with PRO Acryl 1-Step Set 2, featuring 12 brand-new colors that are now available worldwide.
Monument showed off the first five on their Instagram, but now we know the full lineup.
For anyone who missed the first release, 1-Step is Monument’s take on contrast and speed paints. The difference is that it was built to work as part of the existing PRO Acryl range instead of becoming a separate paint system.
Apply one coat over a bright primer, let it shade the recesses, and keep mixing it with the other paints already on your palette.

Set 2 made its public debut at GenCon 2026 before launching worldwide in mid-August. Monument has also been using the new colors during weekday afternoon livestreams, so hobbyists can already see how they behave on actual models instead of waiting for polished product photos.
The Colors Monument Has Shown Off So Far
There are 12 colors in total:
- Rust
- Scarlet Red
- Olive Yellow
- Dark Purple
- Dark Brown
- Dark Green Blue
- Bright Slate Grey
- Yellow Green
- Deep Blue
- Dark Turquoise
- Bronze Yellow
- Black
That selection already covers several spots where the first set felt thin. Wave 1 leaned heavily into darker greens and browns, so Scarlet Red and the brighter Yellow Green immediately give painters more range.
Wave 1’s Royal Purple worked fine, but a deeper purple with built-in shadows is much easier to grab for armor, cloth, and similar details without stopping to mix one.
What PRO Acryl 1-Step Actually Does On The Model
If you’ve already used Citadel Contrast or Army Painter Speedpaint, the basic idea will feel familiar. 1-Step goes over a bright or zenithal primer in a single coat, settling darker into recesses while leaving raised areas brighter. Essentially, it gives you a base color and shading in one pass.
But what separates it from other speed-paint systems is how easily it works with the rest of the PRO Acryl range. You can thin it with water for glazing or mix standard PRO Acryl paints 2:1 with 1-Step Special Sauce medium to give them similar properties.
You’re not locked into a separate range with its own rules; you’re adding another way to use the paints already sitting on your desk, which is why 1-Step stood out when the first set launched.
Final Thoughts on the PRO Acryl 1-Step Set 2
Another 12 colors means fewer late-night mixing sessions when you’re just trying to finish the squad. Painters who already liked Set 1 will probably find plenty to use here, while anyone who skipped the first wave now has a wider range to choose from.
The paints are live right now, so no need to worry about signing up for newsletters because if you missed it, you can just grab them from the site now!
