AdeptiCon 2026 brought hobbyists in from all over the world, and plenty of them rolled in with beautifully painted 40k armies that absolutely delivered on the tabletop and in the display case. You can tell a ton of time went into these forces, and it showed.
Here’s a quick preview of some of the standout armies we caught at the event. Keep an eye out, because more full features on these hobby heavy hitters are on the way.
Kings of the Floating Castle
These Knights looked awesome on their own, but the flying-island display board pushed the whole army to another level. Between the streaked paint, clean white armor, and sharp trim work, these models stood out in every possible way.
Neon Tomb World Madness
This Necron army cranked the glow effects way up with purples, blues, and bright greens all over the force. It had that flashy, high-energy look that made it stand out instantly while it blasted everything off the table.
The Emperor’s Grab Bag of Violence
This Imperial Agents army showed off a little bit of everything that makes the Imperium fun, with infantry, aircraft, and tanks all packed into one force. The blue armor played really nicely against the red details and green display board, which helped the whole army pop.
The Rout in Full Winter Mode
This Space Wolves army leaned hard into the classic look with snow everywhere, deep blues, and wolves all over the place. With Logan Grimnar leading from the front, it had that old-school Fenris vibe and looked ready to tear straight through the enemy.
Filth Done Right
Nurgle armies were everywhere, but this Death Guard force might have been the grimiest one we saw all weekend. From the display board to the sludge, rust, and dirt packed into every model, it really sold the whole rotten nightmare look.
Cawl’s Cage Match
This Adeptus Mechanicus force rolled in with a full-on Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots ring, which was a perfect fit for a bunch of angry machines. Led by Cawl and rocking that classic red paint scheme, the whole army had a ton of character before the first dice even hit the table.
Rust, Rot, and Ruin
This Chaos Knights army looked like it pledged itself to Nurgle a very long time ago and never looked back. Between the nasty display board and the gross, corroded paint job, everything about it felt disgusting in exactly the right way.
Heralds of Heavy Metal
This Imperial Knights army put its heraldry front and center, and the result looked fantastic across the whole force. Then, just to make things even nastier, an Eversor Assassin was in the mix and looked ready to sprint off and ruin somebody’s character plan.
Big Papa and the Stomp Squad
This Nurgle force had a Great Unclean One leading the charge, with a pack of Knights there to do the heavy lifting. It did not have a ton of little support pieces, but honestly, when you bring that much bulk, you do not really need them.
Cold Steel, Bright Doom
This Necron army went completely off script with a sharp white-and-turquoise scheme that really popped on the table. The Nightbringer was the big attention grabber here, loaded up with gold and white details that made it look even more menacing.
One Last Gift From Grandfather
Rounding things out, this Death Guard army brought even more disease-soaked goodness to the table. The colors worked together really well, and the whole force had that nasty but eye-catching look that made it easy to remember.
